Red – Hymn For The Missing Lyrics | 13 years ago |
I think the title tells me all. I feel it's about someone who has lost another (who has vanished/kidnapped or passed on) like how a parent loses a child when they go missing. |
Nelly Furtado – Fantasma Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Well there were some mistakes with the accents, but overall it is alright I suppose. I'll post the edited version in a minute. Here is a translation of the song for those who don't know Spanish: (Note that I made some changes that made no sense in English) If someone sees me through the window Don't be scared for I will not heed to the looks Forgive me if I remind you of a ghost Not wanting to be at the fierceness of my desire It's like a lost love That I now search for in the windows Time passed and traveled and today I no longer see the sun or hear the wind All my moments are the same The sea destroys me And I will love And I I'll be here, here, always here Until the end I'll never leave, never will I leave far from you My love, I'll continue searching for your warmth I'll be your ghost I'll hide in that book you've read I'll be there as you think of what you've learned Life is more than what any text says You'll know if one day you find yourself alone and sad It's like a lost love That I now search in the windows Time passed and traveled and today I no longer see the sun or hear the wind All my moments are the same The sea destroys me And I will love And I I'll be here, here, always here Until the end I'll never leave, never will I leave far from you My love, I'll continue searching for your warmth I'll be your ghost I'll be here, here, always here Until the end I'll never leave, never will I leave far from you My love, I'll continue searching for your warmth I'll be your ghost Ghost, Ghost I no longer see the sun or hear the wind (I no longer see the sun) All my moments are the same (They're all the same) The sea destroys me And I will love (My moments) I'll be here, here, always here Until the end I'll never leave, never will I leave far from you My love, I'll continue searching for your warmth (I'll continue, I'll continue, I'll continue) I'll be your ghost I'll be here, here, always here (I am, I am, I am, your ghost) Until the end I'll never leave, never will I leave far from you My love, I'll continue searching for your warmth I'll be your ghost I wanted to put 'Phantom' but 'Ghost' would be better, or however you want to use it. The song is about Nelly (Nelly is singing so it's her I'll say) telling someone she loves that she has remained untouched by changes (Like time) and so has her love. It may even be hinting that she might be deceased and has chosen to follow her loved one forever. She also says that she can no longer see the sun or hear the wind or feel the warmth of her loved one; as a ghost she is limited to what she can do, and says that she will always be with her loved one as a ghost. *I think she might be lost and searching for her loved one....anyone?* It sounds sad, for someone to love and linger near the one that they loved when they were once alive. It just comes to show that sometimes it's love that has no bounds, even in death. |
Rosie Thomas – I Run Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I heard this song and thought something entirely different from everyone who commented. To me it's about a girl who was raped, and mournfully tells that she is no longer a little girl, because her innocence was stolen. She's running to where she once felt safe before the rape, and constantly dreams of escaping by going as far as she can to forget her experience. I run, I run, I run far from Reality to escape who I’ve become Insanity is close at my back And I’m getting rather numb from the snakes Who have blurred my vision. I feel she's telling us that her future became bitter, she might be a drug addict or something related to it to try and relieve her experience, and I feel she told no one about it, dealing with it until it drove her insane, numbing her senses to avoid the reality of her fate. Sad how innocence can end in such a cruel way. |
Nelly Furtado – Manos al Aire Lyrics | 14 years ago |
The meaning behind the song is about an abusive or neglectful relationship between a couple. The guy is controlling but neglectful, who is easily jealous. He threatens to end the relationship when she wants to talk to him. Although I'm confused with *Yo que te he visto crecer* meaning she's seen him grow up or grown up with him which could lead us to believe he's her childhood sweetheart. The girl in the relationship declares her love for him even when he treats her the way he does, saying she doesn't want to fight and surrenders to love him in body and soul (even though she wishes they could be like they were before) |
Nelly Furtado – Lo Bueno Tiene un Final Lyrics | 14 years ago |
It means that everything has to come to an end, once it's begun it will follow the inevitable fate that all things must face eventually. Although we are unable to accept it, we are destined to the fate of coming to an end. As they say, 'All good things must come to and end' |
Nelly Furtado – Silencio Lyrics | 14 years ago |
There are several mistakes in this lyric: Cine vino > Sin destino *cine (theater? that one should have been obvious 'cause it translates to 'Theater came/theater wine' when the words should be 'sin destino' (as in 'aimless' or 'without a destiny') el brazo > el peso *el pezo de un tormento (brazo? Carrying the arm of a torment? It should be 'pezo' as in 'carrying the weight of a torment'. no me yo voy a desistir > no hay manera de existir *no me yo voy is incorrectly place, it should have been 'no me voy a...' but again the words were incorrect and should have been 'hay manera de existir' Tal vez no te borré en mà > Tal vez me debo rendir vuelve > duele |
Beseech – Emotional Decay Lyrics | 14 years ago |
an angel in disguise or a demon is taunting a person by crushing all that is dear to them by playing it off by helping them. The person after death cannot move on and haunts the world in search of that demon as a restless ghost/phantom forever to get their revenge, |
Beseech – Last Obsession Lyrics | 14 years ago |
it sounds to me like Lucifer mourning the Heavens he has been cast out of, his last obsession being able to receive God's warm light. |
Beseech – Devil's Plaything Lyrics | 14 years ago |
it's almost as if temptation is being offered by the devil who tells those who see it that it can offer many pleasure and delights but with a price of course. the devil mocks people who can look away for fear of the price they will pay for those things (or scared of the pain it will bring) and tells them they are better off dead because whether they choose temptation or not, the price for life is always the same. |
Beseech – Lost Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I've been listening to the song more recently. To me it feels like she's all alone and the only company she has is herself or a person she made up in her head (possible a personality disorder) that she holds on to like a crutch just to get through life. Lost in myself I cannot feel Control I aim I stumble and fall Believing you that's why I loose Emotionless I'm falling apart She's talking about the loss of feelings she thinks she doesn't have anymore and thinks she can't feel the pain anymore. Yet believing in her imaginary friend (or other self) she keeps falling into pieces because there isn't really anyone there to catch her when she falls. Reaching for you but falling through Confused I am I'm loosing ground Embraced by you in my own mind Bolding on to the sweet beliefs She tries to reach inside herself (her other self or in this case for me it's her heart) but fails to hold on and falls down where there is nothing to stop her. Her other self holds on to her, choosing to fall with her and let her believe in her 'sweet beliefs' instead of facing the world. Calling out my own reality screaming out all my fears Overwhelming by all insanity sacrificed a thousand tears Calling out in pain my weaknesses fighting to get back whole Overwhelmed by madness lost in the darkness of my soul The world on the other hand, is calling her out by using her fears as bait, she's overwhelmed by the truth that she can't accept and has no more tears to offer. Her other self is falling apart and using her weaknesses to get her to wake up in order to merge with her and become one again or fall into the darkness of her soul. Woke up alone but in my heart You were there whispering my name Want to go back to the same old place Where we belonged until death do us part She wakes up and can't find her other half, who appears in her heart and whispers her name (their name as they are now one again). Now she feels she can move on, go back to her happier days with her other half until death takes her away. I close my eyes and numb my heart Wish for sleep but only face my truth Embraced by you in my own mind Holding on to the sweet beliefs Until then she refuses to see anything beyond her own blinding beliefs and closes her heart to keep the pain from breaking her again. She wishes for 'sleep' (to be die in peace and never wake up again) but must face the challenges in her life first by also accepting the truth she couldn't accept before. Just when she feels she wants to give in her other self holds her from within her mind as if to reassure her and they hold on to what is left of those beliefs. |

Stream of Passion – Out In the Real World Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Um wrong-ish lyrics (sorry) here are the right ones: (Out in the real world, you are waiting to take my hand, I'll be looking for an answer that leads me back) I've hidden wishes for so long, buried deep inside Keeping them secret from a world that'll never realize the way I dream Puedo ver esos ríos de luz escapar de mi piel, hacia la fantasía Out in the real world, you are waiting to take my hand, I'll be looking for an answer that leads me back I lack the will to face my fears, I'm running from it all And all the painful memories, they haunt me once again I'm giving up Puedo ver esos ríos de luz escapar de mi piel, hacia la fantasía Out in the real world, you are waiting to hear my call; Through a river of illusions you saw me fall Out in the real world, you are waiting to take my hand I'll be looking for an answer that leads me back outside, back in your arms No matter how hard it may seem We should never hide The little things that make us real Show them who we truly are, We will in time Out in the real world, you are waiting to hear my call; (Puedo ver esos ríos de luz) Through a river of illusions you saw me fall (escapar de mi piel, hacia la fantasía) Out in the real world, you are waiting to take my hand (Hay en mí tanto temor) I'll be looking for an answer that leads me back (Tanto mal que ocultar) |
HIM – Valo Yössä Lyrics | 16 years ago |

Stream of Passion – Open Your Eyes Lyrics | 16 years ago |
She's singing about someone she loved and how her love wasn't enough to keep them from 'falling' maybe the person lost the will to live and commited suicide and she is telling that person that she will be all alone if he/she does this, but the person made up his/her decision and she now walks alone knowing there was nothing she could do. Sad song but very beautiful. |
Stream of Passion – Nostalgia Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Spanish if my second language and I am very fluent in spanish. The song is beautiful, she sings of someone who doesn't believe in hope, someone who thinks of death and things that will never be replaced, she also sings of someone being miserable and sad...maybe reality? Una cancion muy bonita pero muy triste... |
Elis – Come To Me Lyrics | 16 years ago |
wow, made me cry. the song is talking about someone looking to be loved, out there in the world but never realized someone already loves them. So the person singing: Come to me, come to me Rest your head on my shoulder Come to me, come to me Sleep in peace is telling them that he/she loves them, to stay with them and to stop searching because they already have someone who cares deeply for them. |
Xandria – Now and Forever Lyrics | 16 years ago |
wonderful song, she's singing about eternal love |
Leaves' Eyes – For Amelie Lyrics | 16 years ago |
It's beautiful, I cried when I first heard it myself. It's like Liv is only mourning for this person, asking (as if in guilt, or unanswered questions) the person why they left her; was her love not enough to keep (Amelie) by her side? It's sad, it's like saying "You didn't give up or fall down when I help you up and told you to move forward" sort of thing; but Mistress Of Cyanide just explained it :3 |
Within Temptation – Forgiven Lyrics | 16 years ago |
The song is just very beautiful, it's sad as well. It's one of my most cherished and loved songs (Emma Shapplin goes first) I simply see someone trying to help they one that they love, watching how the person they love crumbles away without putting up a fight, it's sad. I had someone who always cheered for me, told me he was there...then he passed away and it reminds me of him. It also reminds me of my mother, singing this song to me so that I can understand that she has always watched over me. Simple thing: When you are a child, a teenager you have freedom and you rebel for that freedom, but realize that when you become an adult, that freedom is taken away from you because now you have entered the world of the adults, you are not a child anymore. I feel as if the child Sharons is singing about couldn't face the world as he/she was growing up, the parent (as Sharon who is singing it) tries to shield they child from the real world, but realized that they child had gone far where they cannot be reached. The child is looking for a way to escape that, like any other who doesn't want to face reality. It's very tragic, the song makes you all think of someone special, it made me cry and it would be wonderful if I could someday master it on the violin. |
The Rasmus – In The Shadows Lyrics | 16 years ago |
wow you guys are pathetic...oh quiffporn, um even though I actually like the band, I grew out of it because I was going through my 'teenage' phase but even though you think they suck, um I don't know. I look back and sometimes I just don't get what they are even saying but yet I like it, I just do. But the way you argued quiffporn until now :) but realize that ever since quiffporn (hi there, you really started a war down here *smiles*) stated that he/she hates this band, everyone started insulting he/she and stated why they don't suck. I mean it's your opinions, whatever you like is fine with me. I won't make fun of you if you like opera, it's just music. There are some immature people here, I came down here to actually discuss the meaning to this song, but all I find is argument after argument; but it was fun reading all of your posts, funny somehow but let me just get over that. When I first listened to this song, I heard it in a KHI-II video, and the song was okay and so I went and downloaded it. I rarely listen to them anymore but I still like how they sing. um...x-music-is-life-x calm down, just ignore they person who said that because I loved HIM as well, but I'm not mad about it. Simple thing: Get over it, whatever you think is good music, it's good music so don't listen to other people's 'I hate this band and they suck' opinions, because you are only satisfying them, unless they argue enough to get you to hate the song. I think the freshmens in my school are more mature, just grow up. So far I have read like 4-5 meanings to the song, so who wants to talk? |
