| Psychotic Waltz – Lovestone Blind Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
The bridge is wrong "Lovestone Blind, well still is mine Here..." comes before "All that shines will come in time Never mind..." To make: "Lovestone blind... Here I find... All that shines... Nevermind..." |
|
| Fates Warning – The Sorceress Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
THE FUCKING MAJESTY OF THIS SONG. It's just so perfect. The placement of the solo is just... wow. The lyrics are so well written too: "The dead of night parts the sky, the Salem Witch Hunting eyes, Malifica spells She flies the ocean shore of Kildare Over tombs of the Harpy fields" This imagery is incredible; such a simple scene, but the visual is so beautiful. All around, Awaken The Guardian is a brilliant album. It all ties together perfectly and every song is exactly where it should be. Buying the edition with bonus tracks would disgrace the original recording. |

| Psycroptic – Skin Coffin Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
Ytokes, are you Australian, by any chance? Couldn't help but pick up that "bloody" in there. Australia's an awesome country, and as far as I'm concerned, these guys are from the most insane island in the country. Psycroptic really know how to make weird metal. The vocals in this song are so strange. I wouldn't change a thing. |
|
| Fall Out Boy – I Don't Care Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| haha Experimenting... It's experimental you want? How about Psycroptic. This is well within the bounds of modern pop-rock, and they pretty much finalize that with their own lyrics. "I don't care what you think, as long as it's about me." Hmmm. Pretty deep lyrics. I don't understand how ANY of you people find this to be good music. | |
| Psycroptic – the colour of sleep Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Pretty inense shit. I really love this album; probably their best, but I've yet to examine the rest of their discography as closely as I have this The Scepter Of The Ancients. | |
| Ayreon – Beyond The Last Horizons Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
There's no "s" on the end of Horizon; it's singular. Fantastic song. Too tired to comment on its meaning. Fantastic song. |
|
| Sadus – Black, The Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| That's interesting. I guess I should pay more attention to Sadus; they're a great band. M'thinks you're right about this song. The deterioration of the environment. | |
| Sadus – Aggression Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| "ALL I AM IS AGGRESSIOOOON!" THIS is fucking angry music. | |
| Megadeth – I Ain't Superstitious Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| This song is awesome! Excellent cover. It seems as though a lot of people hate it. | |
| Megadeth – Anarchy in the U.K. (Sex Pistols cover) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
So many people hate this cover and resent its existence on "So Far, So Good...So What?" but I completely love how well it fits as the 3rd track. It goes so well with the theme of Set The World On Fire, and is REALLY fun to listen to. I feel the same way about I Ain't Superstitious on "Peace Sells...But Who's Buying?" Both are very good covers and whenever I listen to either album, I look forward to them lol. SO GOOD! I've heard the original Sex Pistols version, and although I do respect how influential the Sex Pistols were, I don't find their music to be very interesting. It sounds very dated to me. |
|
| Megadeth – Five Magics Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Does anyone else ever get annoyed by the shit that Mustaine does with his voice? When he 'growls' "Possessed with hellish torment, I master magics '5'" I just wanna shoot someone hahaha. It's so gay. | |
| Megadeth – Bad Omen Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
RITUALISTIC SACRIFICE!!!! This song rocks so hard. Ritual by Master's Hammer is a fucking awesome Black Metal album. ^^ |
|
| Mercyful Fate – Satan's Fall Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
"This song's about Satan!" Hahahaha Oh King, all of your songs are about Satan! |
|
| Metallica – The Day That Never Comes Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
Dude, I'm all for vague lyrics, but only when they actually make sense given enough thought. Why does he repeat "this I swear" 5 times in one verse? This lyric is past the line between vague and absurd. Ugh, whatever. Not worth arguing about lol. I'm listening to the album RIGHT NOW, a WHOLE DAY before release. It's not great, as I expected. Both James' and Kirk's guitars sound a bit too bassy in their tone, James' vocals sound like they did on St.Anguish. Other than that, it's not too bad. Some pretty good material on it. Oh yeah, the "vague" nature of this song is continued throughout the album. Heaviest song on the album: "All Nightmare Long." Some great riffage in it. |
|
| Primordial – The Gathering Wilderness Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
I'm just listening to The Gathering Wilderness right now (whole album) and oh my god, this is so good! It sounds so unique that I hardly believed when I was told that it was black metal. This hardly holds any resemblance to black metal; not to me, at least. Such great music! "You say you know me, I'm the poison in your veins!" Wow. |
|
| Tank – Maybe I Deserve Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Tank is such a fucking good band. | |
| Dream Theater – As I Am Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I found Train of Thought to be a general disappointment, despite certain highlights (this song being one of them; very fun song to play on guitar). This song is probably about musical freedom. Record execs being dicks to Dream Theater while creating. I would imagine that it was inspired by the Falling Into Infinity sessions, where DT did not have very much creative control. A very angry release from the band. I find it unfavourable for many reasons. | |
| Metallica – The Day That Never Comes Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Layout of that comment was messed up by Songmeanings...lol | |
| Metallica – The Day That Never Comes Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
Whenever Metallica releases new material nowadays, they market it so ridiculously much that they shouldn't even rightly claim themselves to be a metal band; metal is not meant to be this commercial. To market this album they've put up every track from the album for sale on Guitar Hero, or Rock Band or some bullshit game like that. I can't believe that there are people comparing this to ...And Justice For All. "...Justice" wasn't sloppy, lyrically vague and over-produced (some would argue this, but this listener hears perfection from Justice). I say lyrically vague because, well, this song doesn't make sense. There are inconsistencies in what is being said: "Born to push YOU* around *emphasis on 'you': shows inconsistent Better just stay down" viewpoints* "God I'll make THEM* pay *I thought this was about "an abusive Take it back one day" relationship." Who is "THEM?" I could continue, but you Metallica fiends are very set in your ways. |
|
| Slipknot – Psychosocial Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
I will quote every WORD that LastLaugh said. EVERY WORD hahahaha \m/ -_- \m/ Listen to better metal. My strongest recommendation being Human by Death. |
|
| Slipknot – Psychosocial Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| This album and band are disrespectful to metal. This shouldn't exist. REAL metalheads call this "mallcore" for a reason. | |
| Ministry – TV II Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I think it's about living a shit-hole life as a drug addict, which includes all of the paranoia and possible hallucinations and delusions. | |
| Ministry – TV II Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Fastest Ministry song I've ever heard. When I first heard it my jaw hit the floor lol | |
| Ministry – Lay Lady Lay (Bob Dylan cover) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| This cover is so weird because you wouldn't expect it to fit on the album, but it really does. | |
| Ministry – Palestina Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I have to bang my head to this song. It's so rockin' | |
| Ministry – Just One Fix Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
Ministry just went out with a huge fucking bang. I'm not sure, but I think that The Last Sucker is their most successful album and after hearing it a few times I must say that if true, it is rightfully so. Also, their last two shows were sold out. Makes me love Ministry hahaha. Last Sucker is a fucking intensely heavy and fun album. |
|
| Ministry – Filth Pig Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
The album and song title are derived from when Jourgensen was called a "filthy pig" by an MP in the House of Parliament. This album is completely underrated; so much better than people make it out to be. |
|
| Ministry – Burning Inside Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
And BTW gdawg31, have you ever even looked at the bullshit that you've commented on? I myself may not be biggest black sheep coming from the herd, but Lamb of God, Primus, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Wolfmother? When you find almost all the music you listen to on the radio and then accuse others of conforming...I dunno...kinda makes you look like a jackass. Out of personal experience and knowledge of those around me, that's exactly what goth kids do. Agreed? |
|
| Ministry – Burning Inside Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Why come onto a Ministry forum to flame Slipknot, goths, metalheads and Staic X. It's really fucking annoying. It's almost as bad as a Songmeanings member by the alias of octobersnackbar visiting almost every Cannibal Corpse, Deicide and Amon Amarth song just to paste the same pointless anti-metal head garbage message for the whole world to see. Look him up gdawg31, and you will be looking in a more intelligent and graceful mirror. | |
| Ministry – Dead Guy Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
Holy jesus fucking Christ, this song is making my neck hurt! This and the rest of the album is SOOOO underrated and UNBELIEVABLY HEAVY! I fucking love it. I don't really understand this song, so I'm just going to agree with you broomachine, because what you said actually makes sense. |
|
| Atheist – An Incarnation's Dream Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
Hmm...SpilltheBlood, I read and considered your comment. It does make sense to me, for the most part, and I somewhat agree with you. I'm not sure if I will simply be rephrasing what you have suggested, so, if you are interested, please tell me whether or not I am. I believe this song is a message of how the society of man that is run by greed, gluttony and sin (most everything foul to be seen) has corrupted the simple natures of living one's own life. No one knows how to take care of themselves, they rely on higher powers to take care of them. Even dogs have forgotten how to live without the help of something stronger, and it is all the fault of everything being taken for granted. The world's prophecy is to learn, and yet most do not. |
|
| Atheist – Unquestionable Presence Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I agree with that statement, but also because of panicking UFO witnesses, the presence described in this song sees man as stupid, and unworthy of the knowledge we could have possibly attained. | |
| Atheist – Mother Man Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
There are so many interesting or thought-provoking lines/stanzas in this song. "And a bird flies weak Against polluted skies Before it dies" "Sift through the information Everlasting hesitation To reveal all knowing vices All the compomising prices Untouched by the law binders Setting standards to remind us That the ink has dried Behind the goal We wish to achieve is gone" Brilliant music. |
|
| Dio – The Mob Rules Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Uuuuuugh, I hate it when this happens. This is a HUGE falsity, as this is the title track of Black Sabbath's album "Mob Rules." I actually find this to be disgusting, as it is a huge disrespect towards Sabbath. | |
| Cannibal Corpse – I Cum Blood Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
Octobersnackbar...Why are you doing this? Is there some sort of purpose behind your ambitions of putting metalheads in their place? Ok, Jazz and Classical music is superior to most (quite likely all) death metal, but this is only because most metal derives its roots from jazz, classical and folk music. The only thing that I find offensive of your statements is the fact that you use the simplest bands from the simplest genres (Cannibal Corpse, Amon Amarth, Deicide) as prime examples of what ALL metal sounds like, and then you challenge their simplicity by calling EVERY metalhead a "retard" or "retarded." Octobersnackbar, you are what is called "a hypocrite." Many jazz or classical musicians did nothing or very little to contribute to their own scene, and now you are saying that it is problematic for metal bands to release music that isn't innovative or inventive. Even you are doing nothing of actual innovation, as you are simply copying and pasting the same insults into different forums. Many others have attempted these conquests and only come off looking like anti-socialites themselves. I think I have an answer to my own question of your motif: your mother was raped by a group of greasy metalheads when you were only a child. |
|
| Cannibal Corpse – I Cum Blood Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
I think the amount of comments devoted to this forum is a songmeanings record hahaha. Personally, prefer more progressive metal (such as Alchemist or earlier Fates Warning), but I do feel the need to defend Cannibal Corpse as they are simply influential in the brutal/technical death metal genre. The fact of the matter though, is that this is very shallow music which can only really entertain to a limited extent. As for the crossfire of scathing remarks I can only say that not one person on here has proved anything. No one has learned anything, and there has been a lot of anger in vain. It's almost as though internet chatter actually matters. Hahaha. By the way, did anyone think of simply looking at octobersnackbar's interests or even his "favourites" list? I will personally do this for everyone else's sake... |
|
| Cannibal Corpse – Bloody Chunks Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Octobersnackbar...why is that for you to say? Are you so self-important that you feel that you have the right to say anything like that? Scoff all that you want, you are clueless as to what being a "metalhead" is like. If you were to analyze metal culture person by person, you would see that we are all different much like your "normal" culture. Do you not think you can find antisocial misfits, pretentious stoners and moronic sociopaths anywhere in your own "normal" world? Call me a hypocrite if you must, but why post once on a forum to "remind" us of how "nerdy" we are? Do you really think that your opinion even matters? | |
| Skyclad – The Great Brain Robbery Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| oh ma gad* hahaha | |
| Skyclad – The Great Brain Robbery Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
Oh ma gag! This song is so cleverly written and rhymed, every time I hear anything from this album I get excited because it's so much fun to hear! This song is CLEARLY about the horse-shit that governments everywhere shovel onto the lawns of normal people. |
|
| Avenged Sevenfold – Afterlife Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
Oh yeah, and when an artist has to SAY what his or her art is attempting to state, it pretty much cancels out any purpose of reviewing the art. This was the whole problem with Testament's "The Formation of Damnation": Chuck Billy, when interviewed, went on to state the simplified (and literal) meaning behind every song, giving no point to actually listening to what he is saying DURING the songs. Good art is the short novel Animal Farm, because George Orwell understood that people did not need to hear the meaning behind the story from him, because real art needs to be examined to be understood. |
|
| Jonas Brothers – A Little Bit Longer Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| That's the whole point of this music. Everything about it is simple, and it's all for the sake of putting in as little effort as possible. Profit is the capital idea. They suck the money out of ignorant fools like "Love_Peace_Jonas." Expression has no, or very little meaning here. | |
| Sonata Arctica – Fade to Black (Metallica cover) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Metallica made the song first...so what if Sonata Arctica performed it more "beautifully" or "melodically" than Metallica, Metallica actually put in the creative effort and emotion to develop the song. The original version is better than ANYTHING Sonata Arctica has ever released (I am a bit of a fan, but only of certain works) and despite what they are today, Metallica's older material is untouchable. This is nothing more than a cover. | |
| Jonas Brothers – A Little Bit Longer Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Dude, don't do that, that's bad for your back. It means that you have to drive to the store and WALK all the way to the CD aisle...lift all five CDs...CARRY them over to the counter...GET OUT YOUR WALLET...Pay good money that could be going to more worthy causes...like ACTUAL FUCKING MUSIC | |
| Jonas Brothers – A Little Bit Longer Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Hahaha That's probably right LastLaugh. | |
| Jonas Brothers – A Little Bit Longer Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| UUUUGH. You people disgust me. It probably is about their fucking grandmother, but they make it sound like their in so much pain that no one in the world would know what it's like to lose a loved one. Their mundane and petty issues are being turned into songs and churned out to babbling idiots not unlike those posting on this forum, repeating and rephrasing everything that has already been stated. REDUNDANT. These brats should donate their money to charity. | |
| Avenged Sevenfold – Afterlife Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| This music fucking sucks, it's not only extremely commercial, but the solo in this song is entirely comprised of sweep picking. Sweep picking is entirely overused in the metal genre and this song isn't even metal...it should have a separate genre of it's own called "BAD MUSIC." | |
| Avenged Sevenfold – Forgotten Faces Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| lol suiced cheese! HAHAHAHA | |
| Deathspell Omega – I (Kenose) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Brutally intense music. Kenosis is the teaching of Jesus' incarnation, but I don't understand this song. It is a very complex anti-religious statement I believe... | |
| Carrie Underwood – Last Name Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| hahaha amen to that! | |
| Alchemist – Unfocused Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Seven, you need to change the layout of these songs, this is difficult to read haha | |
