Definitely about a relationship that ends because one part is interested in some other girl, the narrator loves this person so very much that even so is decided to let go off this person because is not happy with her, even though she thinks he doesn't even know what he wants.
At the end, she just wants to be remembered as someone who loved him more than anything and just wanted to "kiss you and hold you dearly"

I think this is about a guy that's following his significant other while she is with other guy, the narrator explains how this other man looks better than him but it's somewhat of a douchebag that obviously takes this girl for granted and even laughs at her with his haberdasher while she's looking at clothes. While witnessing this, the narrator sinks into sadness as he realizes that she prefers being with that guy even though he doesn't appreciate her as much as the narrator. |

i have a story related to this song, i think you are all right about the bloc and i also have another twist for it
i actually found out about a silver mt zion because i had a little dog that passed away and i was listening with a friend of mine GY!BE and she said to me "i heard that menuck made a few songs for his dog" so we started to listen to a silver mt zion, nothing weird at this point
i heard the entire album without knowing the actual names of the songs, when 13 angels appeared i started looking at a picture of my dog and i felt something so beaaaaautiful, like she was there. that night i had a dream where i was sleeping and all of my dogs that have passed away where in my bed, some of them sleeping and some of them just standing there
when i woke up i thought "wow that was a nice dream" and a few days later i found that the name of the track was 13 angels blablabla so everytime i listen to it i imagine all of my dogs taking care of me even tho i don't see them.
and we all know this whole album was made in memoriam of wanda :D cool have a nice 2009 |

i think this song is about a gay couple arguing about one of them cheated, i just love how every single word draws the scene on a pub, when everything was calm until someone asks about the cheat and everything gets uneasy and they start fighting. i think at the end of the song they break up. |

Well, as a recovering alcoholic i can tell you i think this song it's about Colin Hay himself. One of the things you miss when you stop drinking is the sweet relief of being drunk and stop feeling reality. Lines like "sounds of glasses clinking so sweet to my ears" are things that remember you the times you drank. Also it tells other things like not having to face responsabilities, or not seeing your own friends suffering, when you're wasted it's really difficult to caer about others.
It also says some things about stupid ass leaders, cheaters, fraudulent religions.
I love this song, at this point of my life i've been thinking about drinking again, and this song reminded me of how absurd and lonely alcoholic life is. |
