| Widespread Panic – Blue Indian Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
Here's what I see. Someone lying in bed waiting to die. His children come cook for him and bring him food. "Oh, children from my brood they come and bring me food Maybe open up a window for air" The morphine pump. "Oh, just now I smell the cornbread bake Oh, now, now, now I feel the medicine take" He's being fed through an IV bottle "Half a bottle 'neath the bed keep our spirits fed My hat's off to you, to you and you" The spirits are here wanting to take him away "And now our brave friends, too, dancing circles through the room And a broom and a radio and a twistin out a dos-e-do" He's ready to go "Oh, just like, just like home Where the stray dogs go Oh, oh, rest my bones Like a fresh skipped stone to it all" But his time did not come yet...he is still there "Still right here, still just here, Still just here, brave, brave friend" |

| War – The Cisco Kid Lyrics | 16 years ago |

A second Burdon and WAR album, a two-disc set, The Black Man's Burdon, was released (1970) and an exhausted volatile Burdon bailed out on WAR in the middle of a European tour. Already starting to assert themselves, WAR finished the tour without him and returned to record an album without Burdon. When Eric Burdon and WAR's success outlasted the mercurial Burdon's attention span, Goldstein was faced with trying to make WAR stand on its own. The result was WAR's 1971 self-entitled debut album. While this album met with only modest success, it laid the groundwork for things to come. "They loved playing live and toured constantly. The experience of making the first album was enlightening to all of us, especially me. I really felt I got an understanding how to make this work and rushed them back into the studio to cut the second album" says Goldstein. BTW..I'm not passionate, just knowledgable. Google works wonders. Try it sometime. |

| The Rolling Stones – Some Girls Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Does anybody remember when the NAACP and various preachers were trying to have ths song taken off the album due to the "black girls" line? Funny thing is when you asked any Black woman about it at the time they loved the lyrics. It was their favorite part of the song. It was the black men who complained. | |
| Queen – Under Pressure Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
First of all...to Thinkitbeit..If you weren't too damn lazy to find out when this song was released you would know there was no possible way this was about his Aids. Secondly...Freddie and David Bowie aren't the only ones who sang on this. It is listed as a Queen and David Bowie song....not a Freddie Mercury and David Bowie Song. Don't forget Roger and Brian's vocal contributions to this song. aND yES vANIILA iCE SUCKS. |

| Queen – Seaside Rendezvous Lyrics | 17 years ago |

Watch "Classic Albums" on VH1 about the making of A Night at the Opera and it will explain the instrument mimicking the band did on this song. And to clear things up. A Kazoo was NOT used in this song. Their voices are the Kazoo. They did use a Slide Whistle which sounds similar. That may be what you hear and think it's a Kazoo. |

| Queen – Play The Game Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| This could be considered the first song Queen used Synthesizers on since it is the first song on "The Game". Personally I wish they would have stuck to their boast of not using any Synthesizers. Anyone know why they decided to start using them? | |
| Queen – The Prophet's Song Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I have been using this song to test various stereo systems since hte 70's. My friends buy a new stereo or car radio and I tell them you have to give it "the Prophet's Song" test. I still do that to this day. Queen was into Surround sound before it was even invented. | |
| The Police – Contact Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I was reading all the Pink Floyd lyric threads and constantly getting pissed off at the incorrect lyrics posted on nearly every song. Now I come on here and have to go through the sme thing. This DEMAU SENAE person is the one reponsible for all this mess. Either they are the dumbest person in the world or just too damned lazy to verify what they post. What a fucking waste of space and time they have caused for all of us. | |

| Pink Floyd – Nobody Home Lyrics | 17 years ago |

No other band can make a song with Gomer Pyle in the backgorund and come out as cool as this one. When I hear the lines about "pin hole burns" I think of many shirts I had that got ruined from smoking weed. A poorly rolled and poorly cleaned joint will result in one of the seeds getting hot and "popping". Therefore landing on your shirt and getting the inevitable pin hole burn. |

| Nine Inch Nails – Sanctified Lyrics | 17 years ago |

A few of you mention the letter recited beng from Oliver Stone's Midnight Express. Midnight Express is NOT an Oliver Stone Movie. It was directed by Alan Parker (who later on made Pink Floyd's The Wall Btw) in 1978. Oliver Stone wrote the screenplay which was taken fron the book written by Billy Hayes. Writing the screenplay is far from makng it HIS movie. Just wanted to clear that up. Excellent movie by the way. |

| New Order – Leave Me Alone Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Why does almost every freakin' song on here someone has to mention it is about Ian Curtis? Get over it already. I'm sure they have. | |
| KoЯn – Earache My Eye (Cheech & Chong cover) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
It just pisses me off how some come on here like they know what they're talking about. Sure this come out in "Up in Smoke" but it was released as a single years before Up in Smoke was made. Early '70's. The movie was made in the late '70's. As for the title: During the dialouge part of the record it goes something like this. Man: "I'm not going to school. I got an Earache" Dad: "Earache? Earache my eye. How would you like a buttache? No drugs there dudes. Sorry. The end where drugs are mentioned was added by KoRn. |

| KoЯn – Earache My Eye (Cheech & Chong cover) Lyrics | 17 years ago |

Unbelievable. You posers can't do a little research before posting. The song was originally a Cheech and Chong 45 Single. Cheech Marin called himself Alice Bowie. This was one of the rare Cheech and Chong Singles that was not about weed. Chong, or as he called hinself "Man", wakes up and blast this song before getting ready for school. Dad comes in and puts a beating to him because he don't want to go to school. As soon as Dad walks out the door he starts blasting the song again. Funny Stuff. The song itself makes fun of the Glitter Rock Era. The B-side of the single is really cool. It was made for you to play really, really loud and drive your parents nuts. It's an instumental of the same song and it has 5 or 6 false endings. You think the song is over and it starts blasting away again. Drives the parents crazy. I can't believe I'm the only one knowing this. |

| Emerson, Lake & Palmer – Lucky Man Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I remember when this song came out and a local radio station in Texas had a special obout JFK on the anniversary of his death. They played this song. It made my Mom cry. It does kinda fit the whole Camelot of the JFK era. | |
| Electric Light Orchestra – Ma-Ma-Ma Belle Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| This was a B-side to "Living Thing". Don't know why it wasn't included on the album. Great mix of crunching guitars and orchestral strings. If your an ELO fan find this song and download it. Very underrated, as I can tell by lack of comments. Shows how they can rock out with the best. | |
| Electric Light Orchestra – Fire on High Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| When I was in high school there was a preacher who would go around showing presentations of the evils of rock and roll. He would play "Stairway to Heaven" backwards and stuff like that. Anyway, He played this song and said that it was intended for Satan worshippers. What a load of shit he was. The band was just fooling around in the production studio. Yea, they wanted it to sound scary, but not in an satan worshipping kind of way. Freakin' fuck up world we live in. These types of people do not realize they are the cause of most of the problems in the world with their self-righteous way of thinking. | |
| War – Low Rider Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Willowbear...of course Eric Burdon's voice is sexy. That's because it is not him singing. He left the band many years before this song was released. Also this song was NOT intended to refer to cars. It refers to motorcyles. People tend to assume this due to the popularity of low riders and the connection between this song and "Up in Smoke". | |
| War – The Cisco Kid Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Farouhk mentions this is the greatest Eric Burdon ever sounded. That would be correct if it WAS Eric Burdon. He recorded 2 albums with them and left the group. Do some research before you comment. | |
| Echo and the Bunnymen – In Bloom Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Why did you have to put (not a nirvana cover)? All you have to do is look at the lyrics and tell that. Theres dozens of songs called "rain". yet no one specifies it's not a Beatles cover. | |
| Eagles – New York Minute Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| This is a Don Henley solo song written in 1989 and on his "End of the Innocence" album. Although the Eagles did perform it live just as they did other members solo stuff. How come people don't take the time to research songs before they comment on them? | |
| Eagles – In The City Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| The song was written by Joe Walsh and Barry DeVorzon. Walsh's version appears in "The Warriors". The Eagles later re-recorded it and included in "The Long Run" album. You can tell the difference in the 2 versions. The version in the movie has female backing vocals, whereas The Eagles version has the band members doing the backing vocals. Either version is great nonetheless. | |
| Eagles – Earlybird Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Ok hairychester...THE Eagles released some of their albums as THE Eagles. They must be numbnuts then. Resaerch before you speak numbnut. Anyway, what the fuck does it matter? | |

Some of the lyrics are wrong. It should be: "Little pee-pee, Little toes" Not Little feet-feet. That don't make sense. |
|
| Creed – Who's Got My Back? Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Fro soem reason the first time I heard this song I thought of 9/11. I was hoping to hear of a connection since this album came out after 9/11. So far never heard of one. I still think of 9/11 when I hear this song. That's the beauty of music. You can interpret a song to suit your own feelings. To each his own. | |
| Cream – White Room Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I think it's funny how some people comment on this being about Clapton and his addictions. PEOPLE...PLEASE Research a song and find out who wrote it before you make comments. | |
| Cracker – Eurotrash Girl Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| The meaning of this song is apparent. I just need to comment on the placement of this song on the Cd. Has anyone else noticed this and found it funny? It is a hidden track and it just so happens to be track #69. | |
| Chevelle – Black Boys on Mopeds (Sinéad O'Connor cover) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| This is a Sinead O'Connor song. Chevelle may have covered it. | |
| The Cars – The Little Black Egg Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| A cover song of a psychedelic band called The Nightcrawlers. Good 60's Nugget. | |
| The Beatles – A Day in the Life Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| About this "Paul is Dead" crap. Does it matter? Whether it really happened or not we still are treated with some amazing music. His music with Wings is some of the best Rock and Roll on the planet. So WHAT? | |
| The Beatles – A Day in the Life Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Anyone who says this song, or the entire album for that matter, was NOT made for an LSD trip has never tried it. Take a hit of acid and listen on headphones. John's voice starts in one ear and travels through your brain to the other. It just so happens it does that during the "I'd love to turn you on" section. Then try to convince me it was not made to trip on LSD to. | |
| Syd Barrett – Dominoes Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I love the way the drums sound in this song. Two different drum beats. One in the left speaker and one in the right speaker. | |
| Bee Gees – Grease Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Frankie Vali sang this in "Grease". | |
