I don't think it is so wrong to relate this to drugs or addiction or recovery. I'm not saying this was the meaning he intended when he wrote the song, but there isn't necessarily right and wrong in interpretation. "Hoping to find something better" - experimenting with drugs to escape and make your life something else "running with the pain" - gives a negative feeling to the drug use, either added pain or a pain you are trying to escape sometimes I feel like my using is childish and selfish and is actually very similar to the a child in a toy store if you think about it. Its all about "now" and "i want" and doesn't have any thought outside that. Five more minutes alone... I can relate with that feeling too. Not wanting this drug life to be interfered with my anyone and your mind is always wandering back...whether you are recovering or just getting through a family dinner. Iiiiii dunno. I'm not saying this is the right way to hear the song, I just don't think its wrong. |

I wish more people commented on this song, or at least more about the MEANING (songmeaning, not songemotion) One thing i'm confused about is "they say you go blind" i'm guessing they are talking about masturbation here? But, is the whole song about masturbation? In the play the piano teacher and the jerking off during this song. But just listening to the first half you would think the song is just about crushing on someone and longing for them. But then again, the line "it's almost like loving, sad as that is" could also be masturbation. I've just never heard anyone say my junk = masturbation. |

I really dont see it like that Jeril. He created her. He knows her head to toe, He filled her mind. I think he uses Adam and Eve because of Eve being Adam's responsibility and because of Eve's innocence and how impressionable she is. This song was amazing live. Very Beautiful. |
