| Fightstar – Chemical Blood Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| its surely about being/controlling one of those giant manga robots. particularly with the reference to ghost in the shell. | |
| Enter Shikari – No Sleep Tonight Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| freakin love this song although the line "sun and sea can power us" could only have been written by someone who can't drive. haha | |
| Enter Shikari – Common Dreads Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| are you for real? if ur never getting a job then i hope u like the streets or do you plan to live on the dole? cos thats really going to make a difference to the world. | |
| Enter Shikari – Common Dreads Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| don't think the bravery in afghanistan is elusive. and you shouldn't confuse lack of support for the war with lack of support our men and women out there. | |
| Enter Shikari – Juggernauts Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| surely this is an anti capitalist line. think about it: it's trampled because of the juggernauts therefore digging it up will start anew and filling it with greedy eyes is burying the greedy people. | |
| Say Anything – Every Man Has His Molly Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
loving this track. it's like he's taking the piss out of all the emo bands who whine about how mean girls are to them. saying he can't figure out what he did wrong and that she ruined his life despite the fact that she clearly explained why she was breaking up with him: "the revealing nature of the songs" i'm lovin' it! |
|
| Fightstar – Tonight We Burn Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
sounds like it's about the end of something (a relationship maybe) in which was best before the end. the chorus in particular suggests this: "This time it's all worth waiting for, We won't sleep tonight" sort of mediocre relationship was worth enduring for one night of fire in which "we burned out bright." also : "Tonight this town becomes our vice, doused in white light put on your shoes and find your best dress" suggests giving everything for one final moment/night. anyway thats my suggestion. overall awesome tune excellent for when you're in an emotional and existential funk. |

| Fightstar – Mercury Summer Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| just heard this song. its ok not sure on the meaning i'm just worried that they've lost the awesome post hardcore sound that they had in grand unification and one day son. hope the whole album isn't so poppy. | |
| Semisonic – Gone To The Movies Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I think this song is about a girl who left a guy who seemed to like her but didn't really care. If he did care he'd be out trying to find her. it seems he clearly isn't that bothered she's gone cos even when he's left on his own lookin round his empty apartment all he's thinking about is if his car is going to start or he'll be taking the bus. | |
| Semisonic – Act Naturally Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| When I saw them live they said it was about having a fight with your girlfriend on the way to a party with loads of friends and not wanting them to know you're fighting. | |
| Anti-Flag – Police Story Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
as an anti-flag fan I've always wanted to ask the band and the losers who bang on about how crap cops treat them this question: how do they feel about the policemen who spend their lives working to put rapists, peadophiles and murderers behind bars? Yeah those guys are real dicks. or what about john law who just makes it safe for women after dark? what a bastard. surely the point of a band like anti flag who say they promote tolerance and free thought is that u should make no judgements about people other then on the content of their character? |
|
| Anti-Flag – A Song For Jesus Christ Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| is this actually a real anti-flag song? if it is then its pretty lame, i mean i like them but then i've always taken their lyrics with a pinch of salt cos they are as biased as the very people they tell you not to believe. however i would still state that i enjoy their music which is really what its all about. | |
| Manic Street Preachers – So Why So Sad Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| this was released at the same time as found that soul and was generally recieved better. yet found that soul is a freaking awesome song and this is just bland. thats the music buying public for u. | |
| Manic Street Preachers – Found That Soul Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| can't believe no one commented on this. its a freaking awsome manics song and clearly disgracefully under-recognised. anyway this reminds me of Platoon when charlie sheen suggests that you have to get as low as you can go in order to find the truth and rebuild without having to fake it. | |
| Fightstar – She Drove Me To Daytime TV (FFAF Cover) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| awesome cover. since i was disappointed by funeral for a friend losing all their energy and awesomeness by their third album it's great to see a band doing it right. | |
| Fightstar – Mono Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| The EP version is far better that the album version. was totally blown away when i heard it. it builds up until its this huge sound. it's like saeglopur by sigur ros but with heavy guitar. awesome. | |
| Lady GaGa – Beautiful, Dirty, Rich Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| cos that's what the song is partly about. anyway alot of people have done drugs at some point in their lives, it doesn't inherrently make you a bad person. Anyway, surely it's better that she's being honest rather than lying? | |
| Marilyn Manson – Suicide Is Painless (Mash cover) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
smugglethis; Nietzsche's ideas did not cause any of the "problems" (as you put it) in pre-war europe. i don't often correct people but this is neccesary: Nietzsche's philosophies were taken by the Nazis and synically manipulated to meet their own diabolical ends. Nietzsche himself was not a Nazi. this song is good but manic street preachers is the best cover of this. |

| Rise Against – Hero of War Lyrics | 17 years ago |

i must say how good it makes me feel to read these comments.i was expecting it to be like anti-flag posts all little brats saying "yeah aren't soldiers dicks" (not that i'm puttin AF down as I like most of their music) it is an awesome song, i think the question of which flag he brings home is essential to the meaning of the whole song. I like to think he brings the white flag home or maybe the american/UK/whoever flag but its gathering dust because he still loves his country but is kind of dissillusioned with what went on in its name. |

| Night Ranger man, Night! Ranger! | |
| A Silver Mt. Zion – Built Then Burnt (Hurrah! Hurrah!) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| come on, its not about anarchism or socialism or communism. its about humanism. its about people coming together as human beings "Brothers and Sisters". | |
| Anti-Flag – This Is The End (For You My Friend) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
Although i love Anti flag as much as anyone and i do like this song, it grinds my gears alot that they can be so wise on some topics and seem to actually find the facts before shooting their mouths off, yet other times it seems like they're just jumping on band wagons without really looking into the facts. it certainly seems that way here, I'm studying Marketing at uni and am doing my dissertation now so i have been into both sides of the arguement concerning the ethics of advertising, and if you look at it objectively there is a far stronger case for advertising having very little effect on peoples behaviour and it is not the boogey man it is made out to be, but rather an easy scapegoat. When you actually do the research you learn that people on the whole are very resilient to the messages we are bombarded with every day. Moreover that advertisers and the media aren't out to give everyone anorexia, but (DUH) they're just trying to make a living, thus they will show what people want to see. Advertising is a product of society, not the other way around. |

| Nickelback – Too Bad Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| This song is good but it really makes me think of the Rise Against song "6 ways till sunday" this song just makes me think of the line "you're the new revolution the angst filled adolescent, you fit the stereotype well." good song, i just think its a bit pathetic that being angry at ur dad seems to be cool. especially when alot of the bands singing about it really havent had it that bad. | |
| Funeral for a Friend – All The Rage Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
omfg im sick of straight edge ponses crying for a cause! first off sex isn't some huge thing unless u want it to be. it can be an act of love between two people who have real feelings for eachother but its also just plain fun and if ur sensible there's no reason not to have sex with someone u just think is hot if they feel the same way. phew thats my rant over but also the song doesn't sound much like its aboot casual sex eh. there are only two lines that suggest it: like sitting in the back seat and boring me with your body. but then sex isnt boring if its a one off. it only gets boring when ur in a relationship thats going nowhere with a girl that messes u about but always seems to make it ur fault until u get "sick and tired of always being the good guy" lust is a drug that can be resisted? its not a drug but it can be resisted. but on the other hand drugs are fun so why resist? ha |

| Rise Against – Drones Lyrics | 19 years ago |

i agree with the non conformity angle. also i think the lines: If you see me please just walk on by, walk on by, Forget my name and I'll forget it too. seem like the speaker is ashamed of not being able to stand out and break the cycle because he "bills to pay" and "mouths to feed" so they keep working with their head down. also liked that line cos when i first heard the song i didnt know all the lyrics nd it sounded like how i felt about a girl i used to date. but thats not what its about. one more thing, the lyrics should read: Diciples of a god THAT NEITHER LIVES NOR BREATHES. great line about blind faith |
