It is obvious that this song is about cocaine addiction, yes I said it. Look at the signs "Local anesthesia, teases" means that he cant sleep but he wants to ( a side effect of cocaine). "With an incessant drip, signs pockets like a palsy" --> everyone who knows a thing or two about cocaine knows that there is a "drip" that occurs upon snorting it. Adam also mentions the side effect of "coke dick" "Our selfishly slim member cuffed" Also, cocaine deters your appetite, amking you not want to eat. This is mentioned here---> "The season's got us eating less and less (less and less..)" Also I always though that this line "We'll breathe the sweet air through your nose" was "breathe the SLEEP up through your nose." Suggesting that after a coke binge all you want to do is sleep, and you regret doing the drug. As for the "you work hard for what you got and now your...." I always figured that line to signify the expensive nature of the drug. You work hard for your money and you just blew it in one night (quite literally). In that case " and now your..... " this is left up tp the imaginaton of the lisener. Over all this is a great song, one of the best even. But don't you even think for a second that its not about blowin' coke. |

dyketradgey, it is not confidential. This song is about the lead singer, alex's, dead brother. and I doubt it makes you cry because you probably didnt know him. None the less this is a great song. |
