I agree that there's nothing explicitly homosexual but anyone that's 'been there' will read between the lines. It does describe a pretty typical sugar daddy interaction.
I don't think at any point the charming man confronts the protagonist. When he describes himself as a 'jumped up pantry boy' I think it expresses his own self doubt and insecurity.
As for "return the ring" well... I don't think it means 'give the ring I gave you back'.... might be referring to a different sort of ring there. |

Yeah I agree it's about the media's attempt to exploit the superficial side of everyone, the same reason that people protest against the produciton of violent pornography. Just a side thought, does anyone else find it really refreshing to find a metal band with political / ideological lyrics that DON'T constantly slate religion? I'm not religious at all, but it seems that every metal band these days has to have an anti-religious rant on every album. I listen to this song, I think about how much power the media has and I think, THIS is what we should be more worried about, not religion. |

Yeah I think gang violence from a young age is the most probable interpretation but I also thought it could be just about the drama / trauma of adolescence in general. I thought the 'scary' who's "on his way" at the beginning could be like a personification of teenage anxieties. It doesn't quite fit with the whole song, I know. |

Well, yeah, I think the whole thing is about a demon or God (Real or in the head) trying to convince someone to kill them selves. But I also think that it's telling someone that they'll be far more powerful dead than alive. That's what I thought he meant by "Face The Dark and I'll teach you about fire in the blink of an eye" Face your darkest moment (Suicide) and I'll give you power.
Inn regards to who deathstars are copying, I don't think they're copying anyone (Definately not musically) but in Wishplaster's lyrics, he does seem to have ideas that are very similar to those of Marilyn Manson's. Here's a few
Cyanide: Becoming more powerful and feared when you're dead is an idea that manson based a great deal of his album "Holy wood" on.
In Manson's Antichrist Superstar album manson uses insects such as worms and flies to tell the story of the song. This is an idea that the deathstars seem to have used in Termination bliss.
Our God The Drugs: In Manson's machanical animals' album he spoke alot about how God, the media and addictions are really all the same things. |

poopy the clowns pretty much right. People here aren't thinking about the rest of the album. However, I don't think that he killed everyone to white out what he'd done. Right at the beginning of the album the irresponsible hate anthem describes how the world is today. at the end Manson says "someone had to go this far" He meant he had to kill everyone before the hate became unbearable. This song is right before it happens and he doesn't know what to feel about it. |
