All the comments here are wonderful perspectives, none of them are right or wrong but interesting viewpoints on the whole. I think the song can be summed up in word: distraction. We are constantly bombarded with distractions and rarely does any of us take the few short moments to stop, think and reflect. There are 'store front' windows all over our lives. And the storefront window could distract you in a good way (you window shop) or a bad way (you end up delving into the store to possibly risk buying a product you never needed or wanted) Good and bad being relative terms of course. |

I agree with Polyres, good perspective on a wonderfully dreamy, surreal, and deep tune! Love these gals! When I read look to the sun and you'll come undone, it's almost as if the 'sun' is a clue as to where we're from. Coming undone, to me, is becoming free of the shackles of our own material desires, our base emotions, to remember or be reminded of who we are and to walk that path again. |

| Deftones – Change (In the House of Flies) Lyrics

Another interpretation of the lyrics (among countless others), what if this is a creative way to express the pain of death of someone you loved or cared about? Perhaps the 'fly' is really more than one, enough to cover a corpse. The change is like a caterpillar entering a chrysalis, emerging as something beautiful. But, instead, the body dies, flies begin consume it, and the wings are of the spirit of the person taking off for heaven.; He looks at the cross, as a way to blame God for taking her/him, whatever, looking away in disgust. He's saddened so much at the loss, that he asks someone else to shoot him (could be a gun or shooting up heroin to escape the pain). |

One of the greatest love songs of all time. Never even uses the word love in the lyrics and u can tell it's a love song. |

I think it means someone is losing a lot of sleep. The line "running from the sandman" would indicate this to me. Maybe someone is losing sleep about enlistment and the war in Vietnam during that era. |
