Yes! The acoustic version is so great as compared to the studio/album version. I believe he performed with Eddie (not sure of her last name) on Jools Holland and it was just perfect. |

Imagodoc, your insight is very much appreciated. And I could not agree more that RATKOS is perhaps "the greatest album tha nobody knows
about" The concept of an affair or forbiden love would certainly appear to be a theme that runs through Roland's songs, however sometimes I wonder if this is just too easy and that it might be of a deeper meaning.
The Song "Sorry" is another exceptional song that appears to follow this theme. |

Heard it on the Target Commercial, took forever to find out who sang it. Glad I went to the trouble, this is one of the catchiest songs with a very nice tone. Somewhat morose yet very hopeful. Could probably mean just about anything but it certainly delivers an eye opening message of hope. |

Awesome song that I listened to hundreds of time back in the 80's when they released the NT album. what makes this a great song is that its "DEVO" claiming that they're Through Being Cool.... I mean, do you really think that anyone (even themselves) thought they were cool? Beyond that however the "..rearrange your face, we always liked Picasso anyway.." lines are great. Funny thing about "Not" being cool is that the Mothersbaugh brothers went on to make a heck of a lot more money and acclain than many of their alledged "cool" peers from back in the day. I always thought Devo were a perfect band for the 80's, fun, politically and socially astute, and just plain goofy at times. I understand that they are quie smart, perhaps even Mensa members? should this be the case, I would like them to build a time machine so I could travel back to 1985! |

I am a bit lost on the meaning of this song but was somewhat surprised that there weren't any comments. This song is (to me) a riddle in that I cannot determine what the theme or story is. I would be very interested to hear someone else's thoughts. Also, there is a reference to this song in "Sorry" from Roland's RATKOS album. I would close by saying that the line "So many strings to your bow, Why not let one go" is one of the most beautiful lines I have ever heard. |

Cafe Blue version has a bit more staying power in my opinion. I can listen to it quite often without growing tired of it. Weller is genius in terms of his pop sensibilities and song writing prowess. While SC material does not hold up to his previous work with The Jam, I like to think that this song stands up well so many years later. |
