whoa i have been reading this debate and have looked at the issue from both sides. Really look at the song people, all it is saying really is that "Yeah we are american and we are not gonna sit back and let our country become a target"... I look at it this way. I am an aussie, and as americans know australian government supports the iraq invasion. A lot of you are saying that innocent people are being killed. Yes that is true but before the iraq invasion have a guess at what was happening over in iraq...slavery and poverty and death were regular occurances under suddam hussain. And have a look at what happened in bali...for us in australia that was one of the biggest tragic things to happen...and it was terrorists....come on all the song is saying is that we are gonna stand up and fight...not take it sitting down. You have to ask yourself...are you angry they bombed america? are you angry they bombed bali.....everyone should be saying an automatic yes...therefore we agree on something. |

This song sure is topical and I have to disagree with it when it all comes down to it...espesh these lines: Hard work, hard work, you don't know nothing about hard work.Hard work, hard work... Pink is basically saying that the president and people in government dont know anything about hard work...that is a load of crap really. I am not denying that the homeless and single mothers ect are worse off then us...as someone once quoted to me "There is always someone worse off than us somewhere in the world" And i really feel sorry for them and yes they do need help. But I really feel attacking people in government and telling them that they dont know nothing about hard work in an effort to try help is getting down to a low level here. Imagine Mr. Bush's daughters for instance. They would hardly ever see their father during the week as he would be working keeping the governenment going or whatever he has to do. Imagine you being told your parent doesn't know nothing about hard work...imagine that for a minute. Imagine their friends singing this song in front of them, wouldn't you feel like bursting into tears right there and then...I dont care what anyone says, putting someone down like that isnt on and it isnt a nice thing to do. Imagine being told this through a top 40 song! How do you sleep while the rest of us cry? That line got me thinking too. What is she trying to say with that? That mr. bush and his family do not cry. They do not have pressure...I know for a fact that families in government are under imense presure, i know for a fact. We should stop playing "who has it worse off" and work together to help these poor struggling people in our world, rather than laying the blame on one person. We would get far more done in this world... What is she going to achieve by this song? If she wanted people felling very hurt and very upset after hearing this song, then way to go pink, you did good. |

Okay well firtsly this song is sooo awesome lol I dont know why but the darkness are so awesome and I luv 'em to bits. Now to the song... The first bit clearly shows us these two people (presuming here they are a couple in love lol), are like living together and shes coming home and shes like "omg my life is so not worth living..." and shes telling him all this stuff about her day and he sounds really sick of it....so tired of all this girls saying! This guy gets thinking and he's like "we are not as close as everyone thinks!"...well of course they are not, shes weighing him down with all this crap and he hates it! Shes not letting up either. Then the chorus is like "Love on the rocks with no ice..." perhaps this is refering to their supposed love being on the rocks and things are not letting up, theres no ice to come and clean everything up. You know how ice comes and cleans the rock and it starts fresh...well thats what i think it means...no letting up it is just getting sour and isnt gonna change.
