I was listening to this song, and I think I'm hearing what is printed here, Ain't no God in My eye. The line about they want to get my Gold on the ceiling, Sounds very much like they are talking about how churches (Mostly Catholic) take tithes, they want Your gold, and they use it, to put it on their ceiling. Like Sistine chapel style. Saying they want my gold, and its only a matter of time before they just take it forcefully, because their reasons for doing so (True Belief they are doing what God wants) will be strong enough that if I dont give it, they'll begin to take it. Granted there is the whole Thall Shalt not steal, but who knows. This is just what I thought about when I first heard it, It seems like a rebuking of churches and the way they take people's money. |
