Woody Guthrie – Do Re Mi Lyrics

Right on the money.
I got this from the Ry Cooder album "The ufo has landed"
"Woody said you better have some money in your shoe if you're going to california"
I am guessing not only do you need money but you need to know how to make best use of it cause you can get ripped off! He makes use of the dough here by creating some fun word play. Interesting song. I havent heard woody's yet, just Ry's. |

Bob Dylan – Queen Jane Approximately Lyrics

You all are correct about the song.
Bob Dylan's songs and every song in the world means something different to each and every person.
What does it matter what Bob Dylan intended the message to be? I think if he really gave 2 shits about that he would have written a book about all meanings.
I guess if your a "music know it all" and must know the reason the song was written and the meaning, then your not really experiencing the point of this music.
Dont get me wrong, I love song history but no need to debate what the song is about. Unless you enjoy doing that, but seems like a waste of time to me.
Just post what this song means to you and carry on. yeah? |

This isn't exactly just an Anti-Bush song. This shows how america is compared to how it used to be in "America The Beautiful" by Katharine Lee Bates. It basically satires it. imho. |

Two Gallants – Long Summer Day Lyrics

Okay, to add on...I see many people critizing this song...Not on here, but on the internet in general because they use the the N word. Ive read countless books with use that word in school. I think one of them was "Of mine and men" but im not positive. Also, the Bob Dylan song "Hurricane" says something along the lines of "there was no doubt he pulled the triggger....he was just a crazy nigger". I cant remember word by word, but yeah you get the point. Two gallants, used this word, to obviously bring up the emotional content that comes with it. It is very important in this song because IT IS ABOUT Americas past. Like the Two Gallants said, wheres the book on songwriting? They can write about whatever they hell they want to write about. Maybe if all the critics were black and it brought great offense to the black community, then maybe, just maybe, I could see a problem. |

The Rolling Stones – You Gotta Move Lyrics
| 16 years ago
|
Yes, they did cover it from " Fred McDowell and Rev. Gary Davis". The Reverand also wrote "Prodigal son" that they covered as well. I believe personally it is about the high power. God doesn't care if your rich, poor, but when he's ready you gotta move! Great song. Apparently Fred and Gary were very flattered with the stones version because they kept to the original style of the song but added some extra "oomph" with the drums and double guitars. One of the stones most traditional blues song IMO. |

Whitewolf, that guy must be crazy and lying to you, because Mick Jagger himself said that Mr. Jimmy was the producer "Jimmy Miller". He produced this song with him and they were friends at the time. I dont have the article, but heres a link that has a little info on it. http://www.rollingstone.com/news/story/6595945/you_cant_always_get_what_you_want |

Immature little kids here posting I see? Well this song is just like many other songs. It has more than one meaning. Whether is about a girl or Justin hawkings' having an STD. You know, he was joking right? It's more than likely he didn't write this about Genital warts. But someone made a joke, ect. Flame if you want, I don't really care 'cause it'll show all of your IQ's as 10. I won't be coming back to this page either ;D |

Oh shut the hell up dude. They aren't sold out. Gary and Billy just wanted the fans to have something man. They want the music to live due to the unfortunate death of their friends. If you think they are doing this for the cash, you need to think harder. They havn't sold out, and never will. |

This and Freebird give me goosebumps everytime. It was actually so hot one day on the bus ride home and the a/c was broken. I listened to both Freebird and this song and I got cold chills all over man. Skynyrd is great. MY opinion: One of the worlds greatest bands. So much talent in those CD's. Don't argue with me cause I won't bother reading. lol |

The Rolling Stones – Star Star Lyrics

The lyrics were actually changed to. It originally said "Fuck a Star, Fuck a Star, Fuck a Star". But Mick Jagger cleverly wrote it, so it says "Your a Star Fucker, Star Fucker, Star Fucker". So it sounds like Fuck a star when he says it fast. [Your a star] fuck-uh, star, fuck-uh, star. |

The Rolling Stones will always be THE Rolling Stones. This album may be different than all the rest, but what would a band be if they didn't evolve any? I think it's great they are making new stuff. It's definatly bringing in the younger crowd which will help the band be remembered forever. Oh yeah, and Keith does a great job on vocals in this song. |

haha, exactly the same thing happened to me. I was in the car with my mom, and she got scared when she heard the beeping because I had the volume pretty high up. I love how they didn't just "acoustic" the song, rather Keith changed the whole way the guitars were played. Great stuff. |

This song is great. Mick Jagger sang it in Italian for in Milan, Italy. First show after Keith got his brain surgery. It sounded alot better in Italian to be honest, but none the less, a deep and great song. That was one hell of a show by the way ;) |

Fantastic song, but I believe this is sung by Mick Jagger and not Keith Richards. Actually, I am certain it is Mick, I've been listening to the Stones before I was a born and I know Mick when I hear him ; ) Unless their is a different version of this song. I have the strict acoustic one. Still studio though. |

From the weird lyrics to those cool Violins that come out of no where...This song just plain out rocks. It proves that songs don't always need a straight up meaning to slap you in the face. I'm sure Marc Bolan was thinking about something and his hand wrote on its own. Good song and wonderfully put together! I love T. Rex! |

Eric Sardinas – Same Ol' Way Lyrics

This song, in my opinion is about how he keeps on trying to make his lover happy. No matter how hard it is, he keeps on trying. Eventually, He see's how she is just taking advantage of him and he can't take it anymore. |
