Everclear – Jackie Robinson Lyrics | 11 years ago |
Pretty sure that's "beat em at THEIR OWN game" in every instance |
Allo, Darlin' – Still Young Lyrics | 11 years ago |
Could use some help with the first two stanzas: Walkin’ hard(?) ____ You’ve got a lot to give the world But you wish you were old And these days are cold enough(?) There’s a lot of fear around Makes you wish you weren’t born And you kinda figured(?) If you fight the good fight you’ll end up with a prize And you always were impressed(?) With the ways that you surf(?) With the ways that you wanted to sing(?) |
M. Ward – Never Had Nobody Like You Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Few corrections to my ears: Well, since time out of mind, I been lazy But you kept me fast to the light And I'm not sure about the first two lines of the last stanza...don't sound quite right to me, but can't make them out |
Jaymay – What About the Bob Lyrics | 15 years ago |
not sure about the pants line, "would it be for all", "lire", and "cement" floor... |
Rosie Thomas – Loose Ends Lyrics | 15 years ago |
she's found a refuge for her face while dividing the misfortune it displays now she stands too high for them to WRING her dry |
Frightened Rabbit – Keep Yourself Warm Lyrics | 16 years ago |
i think it's "it's a choo-choo train"....matches the innuendo of "a rocket launch" also "if we both GOT the same diseases it's IRRELEVANT, girl" |
Frightened Rabbit – Good Arms vs. Bad Arms Lyrics | 16 years ago |
yes, "and" makes much more sense. thanks! i think maybe what you're referring to in the first line is that it actually is "will win hands down, down"? still waiting on someone to correct the "i am armed to the teeth and i'm heavy set" line...that doesn't make sense to me |
Frightened Rabbit – Good Arms vs. Bad Arms Lyrics | 16 years ago |
yeah i like "grasp" too. thanks |
Frightened Rabbit – Good Arms vs. Bad Arms Lyrics | 16 years ago |
i dunno, there's definitely something there between "brush" and "him"...maybe it's just a hard "h" though... |
Frightened Rabbit – Good Arms vs. Bad Arms Lyrics | 16 years ago |
not sure about some of the lines...leave a comment if you hear something different |
Wilco – Either Way Lyrics | 16 years ago |
yeah jeff tweedy told pitchfork what it meant to him, but if you listen to him talk enough (and even read it in that quote above), you'll find that he believes everyone is still entitled to their own interpretation. after all, wouldn't it be a pretty boring place if all we had was one interpretation for everything? so i don't really think "everything else written on this page is purely done for the sake of writing", no matter how pretentious you are... |
Spoon – Black Like Me Lyrics | 16 years ago |
"my boots are on the mend / and they ain't walkin' home" |
Camera Obscura – Lloyd, I'm Ready to Be Heartbroken Lyrics | 18 years ago |

Jeff Buckley – If You Knew Lyrics | 18 years ago |
this another nina simone cover by jeff on the expanded legacy edition of the live at sin-e ep |
Beth Orton – Heart of Soul Lyrics | 18 years ago |
wow, beth is so severely underappreciated that i have to make the first comment on a song that i submitted the lyrics to? this comfort of strangers album is so strong overall, with so much emotion in her voice that seemed to be missing on daybreaker. and i think this song is the pinnacle of that emotion, both in her voice and in the lyrics. the lines that end with 'everything we touch just turns to soul' are so, so very powerful. and the references to Neil Young's "heart of gold" and "love is a rose" (love is a rose but you better not pick it / it only grows when it's on the vine) are pretty nice too |
Jenny Lewis – It Wasn't Me Lyrics | 18 years ago |
"say goodnight, jenny" |
Jenny Lewis – Rise Up with Fists!!! Lyrics | 18 years ago |
i think we need to give some love to the Watson Twins and get the artist name changed to Jenny Lewis With The Watson Twins. |
The Go! Team – Hold Yr Terror Close Lyrics | 18 years ago |
i think it's Learning to be you is what hurts most I love Chi when she sings this song. And when she's not singing this song. |
M. Ward – Lullaby + Exile Lyrics | 18 years ago |
my favorite song on Transistor Radio |
The Geraldine Fibbers – Dragon Lady Lyrics | 18 years ago |
according to the liner notes, it's "roused" not "aroused". i agree with mattd, but even more so--this entire album is one of the greatest albums that no one else knows of |
Billy Bragg and Wilco – Remember the Mountain Bed Lyrics | 18 years ago |
The lyrics here are outstanding and I don't know if anyone could sing them as well as Jeff Tweedy. A sorrowful song about the beauty of the beginning of a past relationship. "my history and future blaze bright in me and all my joy and pain / Go through my head on our mountain bed where I smell your hair again" Who hasn't been there before... Just a wonderful, wonderful song |
Billy Bragg and Wilco – Birds and Ships Lyrics | 18 years ago |
