| I...freaking...love this song. One of the most motivational and powerful songs ever written. Period. | |

| I think this song has the best outro ever in the history of outros. | |

Don't know if anyone's mentioned this yet, but here goes: Do you people know that Lateralus is in fact the Doom 3 theme song? It's true. The guitar riffs in Lateralus after the mellow opening are the same ones that play in Doom 3 :D |

I'll be honest with everyone here...I think this song is a pleasure to listen to, but I really don't understand why everyone thinks it's so amazing... Page's guitar solo, to me, really isn't anything out of this world. Really, I've heard Kirk Hammett do more impressive solos. I say this coz a lot people say this solo is Page's best, or at least it's the one solo that made him who he is. I like the song, but the message and such is lost on me. I always thought it was just simply about a woman who was very materialistic and thought she could buy her way to heaven. But then she learns the hard that can't be done, and gets let down. |

I'm not sure if anyone has either noticed the following or even commented on it yet, so here goes: In the song Damage Inc.: 'Fuck it all & fucking no regrets Never happy endings on these dark sets' In St. Anger: 'Fuck it all & fucking no regrets I hit the lights on these dark sets' I wonder if there's a connection of some sort... |

| Greatest solo ever from the greatest bassist ever PERIOD | |
| Metallica – To Live Is to Die Lyrics | 20 years ago |

This is a good song there's no question, but one thing really bugs me about it...this is actually a problem I have with the entire And Justice album: the extreme lack of bass, especially in this song. Considering this song was written for the most part by Cliff, one would think bass would be the most prominent instrument, like Orion or CoK. |

For me, this song reflects the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. If you know any about it, this song, to me anyway, reflects what the Palestinians are thinking. Consider: I won't go away Right here I'll stay (They won't leave b/c it's their land) All the shit you fake Comes back to haunt you (This refers to the claims the Israelis make about Palestine being their land and their land only) All the shots I take I spit back at you (The Palestinians are being killed everyday of their lives, yet are trying to deal with it) Bite my tongue Trying not to shoot back (The Palestinians try not to retaliate for fear of being labelled terrorists, yet they do with suicide bombings) I stand on my own I'm stranded and sold (The Palestinians are alone in this b/c everyone, or at least most people, support Israel for false reasons) All the shots I take Hey, what difference did I make (The Palestinians attack the Israeli officials in whatever manner possible, yet it only gets them labelled as terrorists; no one sees that they are only trying to defend themselves. |
