I can't believe nobody's commented on this song! I think some of the lyrics are missing, though... The chorus is awesome! The chorus and verses seem so different, though. I think the verses are talking about trying to find who or what is right for you...and then you get sad when you can't find that person. So they say cry when there's something to cry about, but this isn't it. The line "don't take away the pain" is really powerful because it makes you realize that you have to live through the pain to be stronger. And I don't think the "it's impossible to save me" is depressing...instead, I think it means "nothing's wrong with me...so don't try to fix me!" |

This is one of the greatest songs ever. EVER. It's all about making your own choices and being happy with them. I love the line "Can i suggest that you invest in something more than hopelessness
Before you know, the ride is over" because I've lived in depression and hoplesness and it's totally not worth it! You can sit around or do as the songs says because it's "up to you." Almost makes me wanna cry when I think of how much this song could've helped me back then. Oh, well. Live and learn, right? |

Yeah, I really think it's more about leaving home than a breakup. Parents are more likely to teach things...and the whole sound of the song seems more like a kid telling his parents off than a guy trying to breakup with his girlfriend....I think they would've said "sleeping in the bed" or "sleeping in our bed" instead of my bed if it were a breakup song. |

I think this song is either about 1)being ashamed of the person you're in love with or 2)how you think you're hotshit until you get rejected by someone you like. Haha. Either way, there is ANGER. I like this song, even though I'm usually not into the whole angry-as-hell genre. I haven't heard any of their other songs, so I don't know if "seether just rocks" but it's a good song. |

I LOVE THIS SONG. Geez. It's basically saying, "go on and use me, I don't care." The irony is, most of the time, people who agree to be used are actually using the other person to fulfill one of their own needs. Hence, "when the madness stops, you will be alone" because once the second person's needs are fulfilled, they'll realize they don't need to be treated like crap and leave. Hah. That's all I got. |

The car crash thing does make sense, but writing a song about a car crash would be silly. I think there's a deeper meaning. For me, it seems to be about realizing that youth does not last and that we need to make the most of our lives in the present. Also, the lines about "I'm scared" is a common sentiment among those who realize that they can't keep living as they have been. Very sad, tragic song. Damn him for having depressing lyrics with such great music! |

To me, it's mostly about the singer seeing someone for what they really are, accepting them, and realizing that their imperfections may actually save him from becoming fake like they once were. (I get this from the "lights are blinding" and winding roads to find youself...) *shrug* As for a wonderwall...I usually break it into "wonder" meaning amazing...and wall being a representation of someone strong...so a really strong (emotionally, not physically) inspiration in the singer's life? hmmm. |

This mostly reminds me of snobby celebrities. My favore part is "please don't drop me/I'll fall to pieces..." because it shows how even egomaniac stars need their fans. If any of you have read the Harry Potter books...is this not the most Lockheart-ish song you've ever heard? Haha. This song reminds me of me (that sounds bad...ok..and exaggerated version of me), especially the "you can't argue with popularity/well you could/but you'd be wrong" part....because I always have to be right! Haha. Love this song...it makes me laugh. |

I actually like this song. It's catchy...and I'll admit the lyrics aren't that great...but it sounds awesome driving 70 down I-635. haha. Besides, it's OK if an artist you like makes a song you don't like...it doesn't mean they sold out...(which is, by the way, so high school). And violet085 has a point...if his solo album sounded like MB20...then that would mean that the band didn't have a unique sound to start with. I guess my point is that change isn't bad. |

Perhaps my favorite Placebo song. The video was really good, too. The meaning is pretty obvious, isn't it? Basically, "there's time left, we can't control it, but I hope everything will be great." And the part about friends just slayed me...since all my friends are depressed anyway...kinda creepy to hear that in a song. I can't decide if this song depresses me (I wanna be in control, damnit!) or gives me hope. Dragonkat, you're right...reminds me of bowie, too. |

This song is so amazing. Damn them for making me wanna learn French! I actually had to go to Barnes & Noble to look up the words. Grr. Anyway, you guys are absolutely right about it being more raw and emotional. It's just such a beautiful song! The sentiment of needing to be protected from your desires hit home with me (especially for all those slashfics I read. Haha). =) |
