Absolutely gorgeous song, I honestly love everything she does, but great lyrics, amazing voice, and I think the song's about the start of a new relationship and how nervous a person can be leading up to the beginning, or just getting to talk to someone.
i also love this song- so grounded yet meaningful. however, i think it is about a relationship that has taken a turn for the worst. theyre moving at two different paces, hence "i will slow it down" and the unsteady sound of the others heartbeat. they've gotten almost too comfortable with ways that hinders the relationship.
I think it is an intense early beginning to a relationship. However, I think the singer has a low view of herself and believes she will cause the other's feelings to fade (I will slow it down.) I'm not sure about that or anything (may be my own thoughts in there).
