Young and Heartless – Fall Lyrics | 8 years ago |
I don't know why the lyrics above are showing up from a different song but here are the actual lyrics: Maybe we should just drive. Give this up for the safe way out. Now the sun’s in my eyes, so I pull the blinds, climb into you, fall into me. I hang on to you as we fall faster than we can hold. Maybe we should just drive. Give this up for a safe way out. When I ask, “Are you happy?” you only hold your breath to fill up your time. If I were you, I’d run far from me. If I were you, I’d run far from me. My instincts, they did it again. My mouth stuck on spilling out whatever makes me feel good and only ways that I can make you regret. I’m failing you. You see right through it. Climb into you. Fall into me. I hang on to you as we fall faster than we can hold. Maybe we should just drive. Give this up for a safe way out. Now the sun’s in my eyes. So I pull the blinds. |
Lydia – Watching the Lights Move Lyrics | 8 years ago |
To me this is a throwback to the Illuminate/Assailants days. Such a great song. |
Lydia – Follow Me Down Lyrics | 8 years ago |
One of the best/better Lydia songs in a long time. |
Lydia – Coffee Drips Lyrics | 8 years ago |
Possibly the best song on Run Wild. But it's way too short! |
The Cinema – Dancing Round Me Lyrics | 9 years ago |
@[starsintheskyler:1868] Did you get the CD cause I didn't get a sleeve with the record. |
The Cinema – Dancing Round Me Lyrics | 9 years ago |
@[starsintheskyler:1777] Cool, thanks. Totally forgot to change that "they're all insane" line earlier. That one missing line still doesn't look or sound quite right but it's a lot closer than I had. |
Now, Now – Prehistoric Lyrics | 9 years ago |
It seems pretty clear to me this song is about regret. I actually think it's NOT talking that will mess things up. She just wants to go to sleep but that ends up ruining the relationship instead of talking about things. Such as lines like "I would trade this sleep for you in a heartbeat" and "Thaw me out and I won't go to sleep tonight." Like bring me back and I'll do things differently. |
The Cinema – Dancing Round Me Lyrics | 9 years ago |
This one was pretty hard to hear. I couldn't get one line. Feel free to add or correct if you get it. |
Hozier – Cherry Wine Lyrics | 9 years ago |
First heard this song on the Wish I Was Here soundtrack before the movie even came out. It was perfectly placed in the movie and it's such a beautiful but sad/bittersweet song. Good for Hozier for blowing up so fast. |
The Hotelier – In Framing Lyrics | 9 years ago |
Possibly about the same person (fictional or real) and same situation of suicide as in "Your Deep Rest." |
The Hotelier – Your Deep Rest Lyrics | 9 years ago |
Pretty clearly about suicide. One of the most emotional songs I've heard. That line, "Remember me for me. I need to set my spirit free." Damn... |
The Cinema – Banker Lyrics | 10 years ago |
Wow... had to edit some of these. "Robbed you like a banker I think I'm leaving, think I'll bring her And some of your liquor" "So now you got the record I've never seen it done any better" |
Umbrellas – The City Lights Lyrics | 11 years ago |
Just submitted changes for this song. It was all over the place. It should be "so go break a leg NOW" and the line "Feeling so right and things will run" should actually be "Feeling so right when things went wrong." |
Umbrellas – Beach Front Property Lyrics | 11 years ago |
Maybe there are no comments since this is songmeanings and the meaning is pretty obvious, but this song deserves a comment. It's beautiful. |
Blink-182 – Pretty Little Girl Lyrics | 11 years ago |
Definitely agree with you. I also think there's a slight metaphor for the life of the band as well. Especially in the last verse: It’s a cry from the past we have been through a lot Every year has been great and a few have been tough And the kids they will reach for the stars up above We’ll sit and relax as we’re cheering them on All the ropes to the life from the crib to the grave We started alone in the end we’re okay |
Lydia – Hailey Lyrics | 11 years ago |
Instead of "basement" the line is supposed to be "Baseline took it's toll..." which references an area of Phoenix, near where the band is from. |
Lydia – Seasons Lyrics | 12 years ago |
I'm surprised no one has commented on this song. I think it's the most overlooked track on the new album but one of Lydia's best. The choruses and the bridge are epic and I love how they're instrumental. Then the ending is perfect. No matter what happened, he will take the blame, try to move on, but always wonder and hope that she's doing alright. |
Every Time I Die – Grudge Music Lyrics | 12 years ago |
To me, this sounds a little bit like he (the narrator) knew he would be going to Hell when he died, and was expecting to be the life of the party when he got there, but once he did nobody cared. He wasn't important because his sins were petty and there are many others who were much worse. |
Lydia – Dragging Your Feet In The Mud Lyrics | 12 years ago |
PrettyToy712 - Thank you! I agree 100% with everything you said. I think people are crazy to say this sounds like a B-side from The Cinema. Only because it doesn't sound exactly like Illuminate. But why should it? Only terrible bands release the same album over and over. And Mindy definitely did not make Lydia. She was around for ONE out of their now four releases. That being said, I'm in love with this song. I think it's beautiful and a great progression from Illuminate and Assailants. I also agree that this song is about closure. I'm thinking the first song, "Hailey" will be one more 'This December...' type of song then this one is about closure. But who knows? Maybe it's just a song. So excited to hear the entire album! |
Oceana – Woolgod Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Also, since this song is from their new EP entitled Clean Head, I think the vocalist got out all of his feelings on Birtheater and can now leave it behind and the band will start something new. |
Oceana – Woolgod Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I could be completely wrong, but to me, this seems to be a metaphor about the vocalist's opinion on the story of Adam and Eve. He is glad that man ate the forbidden fruit (so to speak), so now everyone lives a normal life. And "no finer feeling exists" is simply living life. Given the vocalist's background from Birtheater, that doesn't sound very far off. Immediately my new favorite Oceana song. |
The Number Twelve Looks Like You – Glory Kingdom Lyrics | 15 years ago |
To oralcancer: that's what happens with ultimate boredom. |
Pompeii – Until Your Floating Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Sounds to be about seeing a psychiatrist. But the actual reason is unclear, probably to feel more personal to the listener. Incredible song... one of my favorites on Nothing Happens For A Reason |
Pompeii – Pillars Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Second verse is: "Distorted sense of self, it's gotta take care of itself. What a joke to think your problem at all. Pass the torch until it's spent. I think your snapping out of it. Force yourself through the motions, it's the parents and the parents before." Think the song is generally about how things don't always work out how you plan them, but it's better to do something rather than nothing at all. But I don't know... |
Pompeii – False Alarm Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I think this is a pretty straight forward song about getting pregnant. And also how both people have completely different thoughts and concerns about it. "We are day and night. I know you think it's right but can we really go through with this?" |
Pompeii – Rabbit Ears Lyrics | 15 years ago |
This seems to be about two people (most likely a past or present relationship) who are just not on the same page together; don't have the same views/morals/interests, etc. Love all of Pompeii's melodies and the incredible cello adds a unique and brilliant sound. |
The Number Twelve Looks Like You – Glory Kingdom Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I think oralcancer may have a good point... "I am a man who hunts at night" (bar hopping for some lovin') "I am a man who bathes in tiger blood" (replacing tiger instead of "cougar" - an older woman who likes younger guys) "...daggers in my smiles" (Using good looks for selfish and menacing deeds) "Only the wise speak of a place..." (where this deed is possibly and plentiful) "With my dogs, I will search" (With my "bros") "A dream of running freely through the buttery nipple mountains. My sword longs to be wrapped with flesh." (sounds pretty self explanatory) It's most likely (definitely) not about that at all. But who knows? |

Pompeii – Ready/Not Ready Lyrics | 15 years ago |
?? = "There's leather over your ears, it's been bound and cuffed." |
Fear Before – Get Your Life Together Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I'm pretty sure it's: "Born from the earth We will multiply." |
Weatherbox – The Clearing Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Sounds like he's on some hard drug or really drunk, trying to make his way home. He explains what he sees, or what happens in his mind, but actually dies on his way... "but they found me in the snow..." |
Lydia – Sleep Well Lyrics | 16 years ago |
With drug references in other songs, to me, this sounds like he fell for a girl that was into all that stuff but she only liked him for what he could provide for her (money and/or drugs). And when he couldn't, or chose not to, she was over him. |
The Killers – Smile Like You Mean It Lyrics | 17 years ago |
to me, it sounds like hes talking about his younger sister. Like in the first verse, hes trying to look out for her in her relationships. then he starts to talk about the memories they had of hanging out together at home. then goes on to talk about the guys that come over to her house where he grew up with her and how they are driving her around instead of him. maybe he feels replaced? |
The Acacia Strain – Smoke Ya Later Lyrics | 19 years ago |
It sounds to me like it's about a guy who was in hiding after someone had framed him and after he was on the clear, he went searching for this person for revenge. Or I could be completely wrong... either way this song is awesome. You cant help but dance. |
Believing in June – Eleven Violins Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I think it's pretty self explanitory what the song is about...but a very amazing song on top of that. I just wanted to say that I am definitely going to miss BIJ. They were always the talk of the town when they had a show coming up and always put on an awesome show. At least we still have Brutal Fight! |
