so...first time i heard this song was when a guy played it for me as we slow danced in my living room. fell...in...love...with the song, not the guy. i distinctly remember the moment i knew this song and i would be long-time lovers was when i first heard the way scott says "...paints against the sky." that was THE moment. and even though my dancing partner turned out to be an ass hat, he did introduce me to this beautiful song that held the title of "most played" in my itunes for the longest time.

• he's alone, walking the streets because there are too many things rushing through his head. how did this all mess up? what went wrong? the dreams he's pushing away are ones of his ex since he stills wants to be with him/her. he keeps walking because he's afraid of going back even though he knows it may be the best thing to do. maybe he broke up with his ex and he's regretting it?

same as before, but now that he's lying to himself, he's pretending things will be better.

to me, this song represents a person who lost their s/o because their s/o chose his/her career over that person.

I dont think Umbrellas is as good as Lyndsay Diaries..but i like the change of pace Windsor went with this. I dont know what this song means but i like it.

I'm just going to take a shot with what I personally think...

I think this song is about the separation of two people, most likely a couple? One is really missing the other because the other one is going on with their life or it's a break up.

"If you see me at midnight Walking the streets You'll know it was me for I cannot sleep" The one left behind is restless and can't stop thinking about the other one's leaving.

"I've got this feeling things will be alright So go break a leg tonight" The person is trying to get over everything and wishing their friend the best of luck out in the world.

"They're waiting for you" Now this line stumps me. I'm thinking that this is saying "You will meet new people, find someone else", etc...

I know this probably isn't right, but I thought I'd give it a shot.

Alright I have thought long and hard about this song so here goes...

What i think is that it jumps from first person to third person. Why?

the person fears if they have made the right decision but is giving it a chance regardless.

They miss the comfort of someone who they love perhaps. This is giving by the thought of them pushing away dreams. they pushed away someone to go for something else?

That or they are wishing that whoever they are wishing here could see how different and new things are.
