Personally, I thought this song was about having sex with a hooker... Let the whole world look in Who cares who sees anything I’m your passenger It's like the hooker is trying to say to the "client" that they shouldnt be so worried and nervous about everything, but the guy is worried about if anyone sees him with a hooker, and thinking that his reputation will be ruined. But also, I do agree with the drug idea, cause the song is written by Chino and Maynard, who are both know for theyr clever lyrics. so i dunno, i think its jus that they've made a musical masterpiece here that has many different meanings so that the song can mean more to many people... |

I seriously got chills from this song, Coreys singing is just soo amazing on this new album. I think the song might be about Coreys life like everyone said, but i also think it has that soldier element in there, like cause Corey has shown in the song Come What(ever) may that he's against Bush and the war, and maybe this soldier aspect to this song is to show Coreys beliefs.... i dunno! but yeah, the new album is amazing, one of the best rock records of the year |

Everyone seems to be ignoring evil killer phones comment and i reckon hes spot on! I think people can interpret the song as a breakup with a girl, but I think the idea of the the girl covering for him is totally right. "She wont let me hide, She Dont want me to cry" seems to be saying that shes willing to cover for him. I also think he has doubts about whether she will keep quiet about him, and whatever hes done wrong |

I agree that this is a really good song and I also agree with nick041that at first i thought it sounded a bit ridiculous, but after listening to it more, Ive relee started enjoying it. But I do disagree about the theme f the song. I think its about enjoying the simple things in life, even though they have no sentimental value to you, so the they dont remind you of anything. In this song, Chris is saying that he regrets a lot of his past, but now hes gonna try and patch things up and mend broken walls. In the song hes saying "You'll stay the same", which I think is saying that although Chris is trying to fix old problems, this other person isnt, and so its making things harder for Chris, although i might be reading too far into things there... Im probably totally wrong but i think the song is sort of saying that this one guy has all the good luck but is still complaining about his life, so another guy is all like "I wsh i had your good luck", and it keeps annoyin this less fortunate guy so that he says "you gotta give or your gonna recieve" sayin that this guy shud stop complainin or someone is going to whack him. I agree with magicmanx9, but I also think there are other films in it, like the first verse Met a man locked away for things he hadn't done innocense on a ball and chain never feel the sun again on his face or roses in his hands but when he smiled at me, i could understand Is a lot like The Green Mile with the Big Guy (cant remember his name) and Tom Hanks. I cant see any other film references, but im young and aint seen that many films, so perhaps there mght be some more in there. |
