My my, how the worm turns...or maybe how i turn at least. The side of this song relating to female abuse, although true and requiring notice, seems very un PC to me now. Exactly who is there for the men who are trampled and used by the assertive females? It was this kind of over the top attitude that created the sexist opinion we have today. Not ALL men are abusers, not all men use Rohypnol and want theyre women to be submissive. Some men are passafists, and end up being exploited, used and ultimately broken by females who beleive that all men are evil selfish, using demons, and so therefor deserve bad treatment for it. We need to clean up the reputation men get. We are not all useless, sexually driven, lazy heaps of crap as advertising, music, movies and womens day time TV would have us all believe. |

I thought this might be about the difference of advamtage between girls and guys in clubs. Women are a lot more sure of themselves than guys are these days, (not that many would admit it) I havent really analised the lyrics, i just got this feeling watching the video. Shahman : Took me a long time to reply to youe earlier statement....Why have you hit back so bluntly and agressively? I dont access music for a living you know, I'm not a pro or anything. I guess i was mistaken. I just feel pretty small and crap with all this over the top aggressive "music" that rappers produce. It's ussually unpleasant and racist, and tends to invlove lots of women slinking around them with very little clothes on. Rap created the chav generation and i cant wait for it to wither and die. Hopefully it will give birth to something a lot more settling and enjoyable to listen to. |

Woooooa!!! There has been some very cold and discusting stuff flying around for this song. WEBMASTER! PLEASE KICK GUYS WOU REFER TO BEAUTIFUL CLASSIC SONGS AS SONGS OF SEX! This song....(ahem...im good now)....is possibly the most beautiful and heart felt song i know. This is not so much about what he wants his lover to do, it's more about what he doesnt want her to do. He's trying to explain that love is not just about simply saying you love someone. It isnt required. If there truely is love between the two of them, then those words arent even neeeded, he simply knows without words. Indeed, the very fact she feels she needs to say them upsets him. He thinks she may not be as sincere as him and ultimately feels she has to canstantly tell him to make sure. Ladies, I know the media and everyday life tell you that men want nothing more than sex with random women. THEY ARE WRONG! Many men have a feeling as deep as this. We are just far too pigheaded to come out and say it (well most of us) |

Guys, I'm dissapointed. Where are all the horeds of a-ha fans eh??? Lol, the truth is, this song is a little appropriate to the total lack of any interest in the band. I have a very strong feeling it's a rather dissapointed and deflated complaint from the band to the fans no less!! Well, not so much complaint, but put it this way. The band comkes out in the mid 80s, raging horeds of fans, sell out concerts. Oh how we loved take on me and the sun always shines on tv....and that other one....before they know where they are, poor old a-ha are having more demand for great songs and more performances. The poor guys cant keep up with demand. "We had it all, you gave it up, you wanted more" |

ok guys, i think we should take this a little less literal. Here's my thoughts. The song is start's off saying 'Oh BROTHER i cant get through' who's Brother? A member of the Black comunity maybe? The song also mentions 'or write a song nobody has sung' which doesnt happen often in rap (:p) . Also It's actually not an attack if you take this view (so off your high horse people!) It's actually more like a song of empathy. Asking for some kind of conection in musical terms. You see, this song is about 'Talk' which, lets face it, is what rap is about. I think the writter of this song feels disconnected with rap and finds it hard to apreciate the "art" of it. It's a theory only by the way. But it does seem to strike a cord with me, 'Nothing's really making any sense any more' |

I'm going out on a limb here folks. Just work with me here and see if you agree. :D So many people today are Geared toward their careers and other important things in life. Such 'Frivilous' (sorry about the spelling) thing as Love are given the back-seat, often to the detrement of a relationship. They take up all the time in our life as the demand for longer hours and more sincere workers is forced upon us: 'She says she has no time, for you now.' This is a song TO, not by, not only an individual man who has lost his love, But to all people who have lost or are losing alove for the same reasons: 'Lonely people tumble downwards My heart opens up to you ' And is telling the individual to appreciate the fact that he is not the only one : 'But we're all the same ' And to spare a thought for them aswell. He can either pick up the pieces and remeber the best of the time they shared, or stay in sorrow and despare : 'Think about the lonely people And think about the day she found you Or lie to yourself And see it all dissolve around you' And folks...I have felt this feeling, and restled with this kind of thing so many times......Havent we all?? Before I continue, I have a confession. I know NOTHING about the Everly Brothers. The reason I am here to interpret this song is because my favourite band A-ha (go check 'em out...they rock!) did a cover version of this, and i am a big believer in crediting the original artists of every song.....Here goes: This is a beautifull song, and so often I've felt this way myself, but I am nowhere near as noble. It's about a young man who, after having his love rejected by his sweetheart, cannot stop himself from crying. But since he loves her so much, and refuses to let her see how she has effected him, for fear of upseting her. He says he will spend his days outside in the rain while he crys, so as to hide the fact. Quite wonderfull. Such a shame life isnt like that anymore.....WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO ROMANCE FOLK!!!???? |

Now this one I know. Sadly I can't say how, I just remeber it being explained possibly by the band themselves (obviously not personally though :p), again I'm not sure of that fact either. Morten actually had a dream about this song. The opening line is exactly was it says on the tin. From there on it's what he dreamed about. Now I can't say for sure if the song and tune itself was in his dream or whether it was simply it's idea that came to him while in slumber. But either way. This is a very simple and easy song to understand that came to somebody whilst their mind was in a dormant state. When I think about it harder, I think we've all had musical dreams at one time or another, and the chorus of the song (Cry Wolf..Oooooooo!!) Is so in character with such strange things. A simple name of a story we've all heard and may have been frightened of as children, accompanied with a kind of Infantile Wolf-Howl aswell! 'Oooooo!!'.....Wonderfull :D |

Oh my goodness. I have to admit i didnt have that kind of interpretation at all of this song. I got the feeling it was about a blind man and how he 'sees' the world around him. I guess it was one of the later lines that did it : 'And his eyes too numb to see' Although there are many conflicts within the rest of the song to this idea. For example : 'He likes to have the morning paper crossword solved' But then again, who's to say he actually DOES solve it? A lot of A-ha's songs can be like this, I think the contradictions are to be taken Ironicly. It's a tough one to work out, I must admit, and even though this is now around 20 years old, and I've known the song for all that time. I still struggle with firends on it's meaning. |

I think this song is wonderfull. It's like a grudge against their old manager, and the media in general. The poor guys, Pal, Morten and Mags, are such tallented men, and like so many other bands, they went down the convayor belt of the music industry and strait out the other end. They should have been so much more apreciated. The most powerfull line in the song: "And we all calm" (NOT COME!!!) "down, don't make a sound as we hit the ground" |
