AJJ – Do, Re, and Me Lyrics 11 years ago
Nevermind....
"Eric Wood’s previous band was called Neanderthal. In MaximumRocknRoll #118, Wood said Thomas Lenz had offered to put out some records but then eventually bootlegged them. Man is the Bastard wrote two short songs about Lenz entitled, “A Screwdriver in the Urethra of Thomas Lenz” and “Semen in the Eyesocket of Thomas Lenz”

Why? – These Few Presidents Lyrics 18 years ago
"it stumbled out lost, and without a pause
i'm stung as i was, still i stomped it"

is incorrect, "i'm stung" should be "unstung"

also

"these few presidents
frowning in my pocket"

the 'few presidents' are dollar notes? or is that obvious ;)

Bonnie 'Prince' Billy – I See A Darkness Lyrics 19 years ago
Building on what both LeslieAnnLevine and interpretive have said I'd also like to throw in the idea that Bonnie Billy is also questioning his friend. These lyrics are slightly incorrect, I'm pretty sure the second line is "It's what you told me *anyway*". He's perhaps questioning if his friend has ever really thought about the way Will thinks and if he truly thinks Will is his friend. Will values their friendship more. His friend does not suffer from depression; he is his best *unbeaten* brother.

Tom Waits – Rain Dogs Lyrics 20 years ago
"Tom described a RAIN DOG as a dog you would see huddled in the doorways of New York after a heavy rainfall because the rain has washed away its scent and it cannot find its way back home. I have also heard this term used for dogs that get lost out in the country in the same manner."

of course, quote of a quote of a quote, who knows if he ever actually said anything of the sort? Ah... the internet, gotta love it.
