This song was originally released on a EP called "Ready, Steady, Who!". The name parodied the Birtish TV Pop Show called "Ready, Steady, Go!". The EP featured another two similar covers: "Batman" and "Barbara Ann". Incidently, all three covers begin with the letter 'b'. Ramones – Chinese Rock Lyrics 19 years ago
I think it was Marky that said it was Dee Dee who wrote it, and Johnny Thunders was just in the room at the time. The Ramones played it, didn't like it and gave it to Johnny. When Phil Spector got with them for End of the Century, it made sense to record it again, and it turned out great.

I don't know why. It's one of their worst (and I've heard all of Halfway to Sanity)

Ramones – Crusher Lyrics 19 years ago
There's a funny story about this song. When Dee Dee left the band, he went on to start a (godawful) rap career. Needless to say, it didn't last very long, and by one album, he started writing for the Ramones, again. The Ramones suggested they covered The Crusher, as it was their favourite song on the album. They changed the lyrics a little and made it more guitar-heavy. Dee Dee liked the cover so much, he played it like the Ramones version on his Solo punk album, Hop Around.

Ramones – Questioningly Lyrics 19 years ago
This is a very much overlooked Ramones song, and probably their best heartbreak song, if you ask me. The slide guitar is very George Harrison-esque, and the whole thing sounds beautiful. It's a huge surprise to find this on Road to Ruin.

Ramones – Danny Says Lyrics 19 years ago
The "Danny" mentioned in the song is Daniel Fields, the Ramones' manager on the End of the Century record. The whole song is about trying to keep a relationship going while on tour.

Ramones – Bonzo Goes To Bitburg Lyrics 19 years ago
It wasn't actually Dee Dee's choice. Johnny forced Dee Dee to change the name for the album, or it wouldn't go on (due to Johnny's Right-Wing, Pro-Reagan beliefs).
