At the Drive-In – Catacombs Lyrics 21 years ago
Cedric writes so stream of consciously, it is impossible to determine what the intended mean is. If there even was one. Mostly, I think the majority of ATDI's songs describe more of a feeling or emotion rather than anything very specific. But the beauty of them is the way they write them. They use certain themes of imagery and let you decide what the song means to you individually. No one can ever know what was going through their heads when they wrote it. Personally, I think this song is about people who are on the outside of a situation telling the people in the situation what to do.
"hey you did you ever intend to sleep inside my tomb
and you would you ever attempt to kick from inside this womb"
To me, this is saying, "Who are you to tell me what to do. Are you going to live my life for me? Are you going to decide all my actions and how I'm going to live?"

Refused – New Noise Lyrics 21 years ago
When did you all lose sight of the fact that the purpose of this site is to discus the meaning of song lyrics, and not to bash other people on their mispellings and opinions? This song is pretty straight forward in my opinion. I think it is advocating reform in both the music industry and world government. They are unhappy with the way things are. Too much enphasis is placed on appearances, on making money, not on making music. They are saying we are not ready to move forward. We are too immature if you will, to be able to recognize that we even need to move forward. "How ca we expect anyone to listen if we are using the same old voice? we need new noise, new art for the real people" If you try to spread your message in a way that appeals to the mainstream, you won't get you're message across, especially when that message is that mainstream sucks. You have to back up what you're saying with what you're doing. And that is exactly what Refused did.
