Catacombs Lyrics
lark throated spit through beaks tonight/
these gagging chirps were written in disguise/
what's that sound?/
caskets floating/
hey you did you ever intend to sleep inside my tomb/
and you would you ever attempt to kick from inside this womb/
hey you would you ever attempt the excavation of these fossils/
and in case you haven't noticed, we're already dead/
this gravity is a quadriplegic horse and carriage/
pendulum swing through tantrum slits/
this scapel's glaze untamed won't feel romantic/
what's that sound?/
caskets floating/
in layman's terms sewn through matrimony/
these gagging chirps were written in disguise/
what's that sound?/
caskets floating/
and you would you ever attempt to kick from inside this womb/
hey you would you ever attempt the excavation of these fossils/
and in case you haven't noticed, we're already dead/
this scapel's glaze untamed won't feel romantic/
what's that sound?/
caskets floating/

I love this song..... i don't know wat it is about it, but itz real catchy
it is soo about a acient demon that gets risen by an explorer......... then does a kool dance type fing wiv his minions. i am crazy.
haha@stebug, I wish that's what this song was about, but it sounds infinitely more pessimistic than that. Seems like Cedric (or whoever wrote this bit) is uncomfortably familiarized with death. That's rather redundant, actually, because anybody so familiar with death would probably by disturbed by the fact that they are. "caskets floating" is somewhat reminiscent of not being able to accept death and bury lost loved ones in your mind. Who knows, who knows...
BTW, I don't know if anyone else noticed this, but RoC's artwork appears to depict "a quadriplegic horse and carriage" even though (as far as I know) the American version doesn't have this song.
WTF is ia quadriplegic horse anyways, i have problems understanding and saying strange words more than 10 letters long!!!!
a quadriplegic is someone (or thing) that's limbs are paralyzed (both arms, both legs). i know on some of the imported relationship of commands has this song as a bonus track. i don't think the cover depicts what this song is referring to...seems more like the trojan horse to me
i think this song is about the death grip of commitment. the "excavation" is talking about trying to renew the initial romance of the relationship, and "we're already dead" is talking about the relationship being dead. the bond, commitment, "gravity" is paralyzing him, and the rest is pretty easy to relate to that.
reminds me of a romeo+ juliet type of thing..
Just an idea... but I think this song is completely related with the Trojan horse. The battle was thousands of years ago which would explain all the connections to fossils. The fight was a strange attempt to win, and even though it worked they probably thought they were going to die. And also... it'd be the battleground and tomb for many. Lastly, it's a horse that can't move (quadriplegic) and a "carriage" for the soldiers that were there to attack those in Troy.. or was it Troy that got attacked? Bah, I'm not running on enough sleep to anaylze.. I'll look at this tomorrow and wonder what on earth I was thinking.
Try looking words up stebug and maybe youll have an idea.
My thinking on the horse line.... Basically means youre going nowhere. The gravity should be pulling but the horses arent moving.
The hey you parts I def think are about the trojan horse. The kicked inside the womb part sold me on that.
Float - Available for use; in circulation This is for the number of expected casualties
There is def a romantic theme tied in in reference to Helen, the woman that was to be saved in the war. The scalpels are swords, all the death to get her wont be romantic at all. Not knighly and fairy tale like, just gory and disgusting.
Whats that sound? People dying.
Lark throated... This one Im getting a few diff vibes from Lark - A carefree or spirited adventure. A harmless prank. The prank was going into the horse itself. They spit and that shows how the soldiers were kinda rough around the edges. And the gagging chirps were disguised by the trojan horse itself.
OR
The European Lark "It is considered a table delicacy, and immense numbers are killed for the markets." Immense numbers are killed.

well, i still fink that as i am unable to understand half of the words he says, that m simplistic and light hearted view of this song is good for those of only 34.6% intelligence or below, such as me
