i love this song. sometimes, when life seems to suck, i just listen to this song. and it agrees with me that growing up isn't always as fun as i'd hoped it would be. when we're little, or atleast when i was, i was completely pumped to be able to do the things big kids did, to get pimples, drive cars, be independant. and sure: some of it is great. but then there are times when...u stop. and realize..that at some point..along the way, life got complicated. it's kind of a shitty feeling. but then. there's the part where we're "still fighting it" and i realize i'm not as old as i am making myself feel and that life is as good as we make it. and then i dance around. and remember to love life. and, more importantly, love ben folds. |

this song moves me everytime. especially driving in my car. for me: it's about abortion. it makes sense when i listen to it - but i dont know what it means to the band or to everyone else. it's sad..yet so beautiful and like..it's so easy to put yourself in his position or the relationship he is in because it happens to so many of us..or we're all worried that it will happen to us atleast. i think it really sheds light on the guy's perspective of the whole situation. it'd be hard to know what to do with oneself. but he seems to try his best. it ends with their relationship..not being on such a great note, but i think that kind of event would defintily take it's tole on two people. i just put my relationship in that light. and the song just feels real. ok. i'm babbling. but point in case: amazing song. just...really good. i love ben folds five AND ben folds. |

this song came outta no where for me. i was listening to the "recovering the satellites" cd and just playing it through getting to know the songs i hadn't heard before and then this one came on and i immediately fell in love. they have so many good songs. they're the type of band where you CAN play through a whole cd with out skipping and not get bored . i just love the style of this song, his voice, the lyrics. everything. adam duritz has a way of doing things that just seems to make the world an overall better place. therefore, three cheers for adam duritz. |

yah i think a drug connection, although it could easily fit, i dont think it does the song justice. The only real drug part is where he flat out says "those drugs you got wont make you feel better". i'd have to say that part is about drugs...because it is. i mean for all i know the whole song could be about drugs, but for me personally, i'd like to think that there is more to it. either way:
