| To the guy who says Jmann even said slipknot didn't rip them off.. I'm pretty sure the only reason he said that was to try to put an end to the feud. If that wasn't the case, members of mushroomhead would not have gotten fans to throw shit at the members of slipknot (read it in an interview). And of course, while I like slipknots music, I have no respect for them.. because even if they didn't rip MRH off, they're stilla cting like children when they don't let it just fucking die-- corey taylor tries to act like a badass, saying he'd beat the shit out of all of Mushroomhead.. I mean come on, how can someone who is also in stonesour try to act like a hardass? Just doesn't happen.. it's pussy music. | |

Yes the band is supposedly about slipknot. Mr. Person you're missing the main point behind the MRH/SLipknot feud. Mushroomhead went to roadrunner records, witht heir orginial look (not the x-face masks.. they had a pig mask, bondage mask.. among other things), and when msuhroomhead turned them down, in went slipknot.. all of the sudden slipknot starts wearing masks. |

Alright.. here's my view on Mushroomhead.. not just this song. I haven't been listening to them for all too long, but for about the past year they have been my musical obsession... nearly all I listen to. From what I can tell, at the beginning they're actually saying "pray for me, I'll bleed for you" and since I've seen nothing about it on the actual mushroomhead official sites/lyrics, I'm not going to be persuaded otherwise. It seems to me that everyone thinks Mushroomhead laughs at the idea of religion (and well.. they do state it in Bwomp, I think there's a little more to it than that). After looking at a few of the songs that mention religion, it seems to me that he/they don't think it's stupid-- just have no reason to believe, though they really would like to have something to believe in, for whatever reason.. Becoming Cold: "Save your faith for the faithless, we need it most. Need something to believe in, but nothing comes close" The New Cult King: search for signs to light the path show me the way savior send a glimpse to glance and renew my faith emerald meets the oceans blue in a shade of grey the general knows not what to do as tears run down her face nails through hands and feet on this cedar grave atone for sin can this be can my soul be saved all alone I think too much need to believe in something real don't need this crutch because it just deceives ------ The way I see it.. He WANTS to believe, but can't find it in himself to do so. This goes back to my ideas about the beginning of bwomp. He wants someone ELSE to pray for him, because he cannot pray for himself, and in return for the prayer, his own blood... a sacrifice of sort, like saying "you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours" Look at "laughed at religion long ago, doubt I'll be an angel when I die"... if someone was a firm believer in nothing, as most people probably think of Mushroomhead.. he would say I won't, I will not.. not I doubt I will. Plus I think mushroomhead puts a little too much into their music to simply bash on religion without a purpose. Maybe I'm dumb, but I hope you can all see where I'm going with this. |
