a)adam fisher wrote the lyrics. perhaps it's his "old-hag" syndrome. b)the religious references come in at "don't tell me there is nothing to fear" and "when what you see and what you believe are two different things". the first refering to those who tell you not to fear or worry because god will take care of it/you. the second pointing out that if you look at the state of the world, god doesn't exactly appear to be taking care of everyone. |

this is my favorite off of t.a.o.m. the "dear god, it's me, king blasphemy" i find as a pun off of judy blume book, "are there god? it's me, margaret". and, again with the king blasphemy section, refering to all the hardcore religious kids/folks who spend their days claiming to love god and live for god, but their actions completely contradict their words. and thus, upon dying, they realize they're hypocrits and ask for forgiveness because they can't die just like all of those they held themselves better than. |

i'm glad someone posted the letter from the site. all of you saying geoff has lost his writing ability...this is from full collapse; i.e.: it hadn't developed as much yet. on first listen i was disappointed with this song. i don't like the fact that there is a chorus. however, on first listen i was disappointed with war all the time and on first listen to full collapse i didn't think they were that amazing. now they're my favorite band, i love full collapse, and i find myself walking around singing "5-4-3-2-what are you waiting for?" |
