all those who think that lateralus is a tale of love or sex and anything like that are wrong....in an interview maynard said that during the process and writing of lateralus he hasn't FELT anything...but KNOWN alot!!!let me explain the meaning of this song(this is only my opinion)
in this song maynard explains no one is better than anyother.....no one has any superiority over the other!!!some ppl who are so proud of their knowledge and intelligence keep bragging about it...INFACT...the truth is that they might have obtained that information from some one else....all the powers given to us are given by God....no one shud have any ego or arrogance due to his better knowledge....i have learnt many things from many ppl and i spread the word into other ppl who think i thought about this myself.....
the moon which starts from nothing to a full moon and then cums back to nothing again....it REFLECTS the light of the sun....so thats not its own....untill we keep communication wid each other...we will always be in a shape of a full moon but the moment we lose our communication skill we will cum back to nothing...tv shows us only half of the story...but when we tok to different ppl we share evrything not the half!!!we must crucify our egos and the thinking that we are better than any other human being...we all all the same....and not to forget THINK FOR URSELF,QUESTION AUTHORITY is another message in the song!!!!what do u think of that,guyzzz????

juss as peace for me said....i had the same thing in my mind....i think that this is also related to the astral projection that whiteout2 mentioned!maynard explains that when ur spirit leave ur body...u realize its not the spirit that feels the pain....its ur mind that makes up an illusion for u.....if u embrace this pain and accept it...U WILL NO LONGER FEEL IT....how many times have u seem ppl doing amazing thing e.g putting a 3000 pounds on them and nothing happens to them....cuz they embrace the pain...they kinda get so deep into their minds and clear out the illusion......i am lucky i share some inspirations wid maynard...infact we all dooo.... |

from the moment of our birth,we cum to face facts of what our identity is,where we cum from and where we will go....since the beginning we have been dominated by authorities...education,political,religious,all kinds of authorities....to follow the rite thing and to believe in whats real...we must grab the facts...so question authority,think for urself!!!!
in my life...there were a hundred times i thought to becum an athiest...i cudn't grip onto my religion....CUZ....i never understood it...i went for what ppl had to say...never thought for myself...then when i read these few lines...i completely changed...i thought and thought......i had to believe that there was a God....controlling me....he gave us a life so that we cud prove satan wrong....we have to fight this war....and though we are kinda puppets wid a mind....we will be rewarded or punished accordingly for what we do....

it so damn gud to have another muslim pal here!all the things said are perfect........i am not one of those who make their religious opinions and views public...but i gotta go one wid this!:

turning teh christians here.....i believe that Jesus was a Prophet of Allah.....his teachings that are said in the Quran are the same as everyother prophet's! the new testament...i think has gone curropt!i mean....i have a thousand christian friends out here!and i ask them is sex before marraige or any form of adulltry,drinking,eating pork and never praying except for sundays allowed in christianity....and most of the time i have heard THE NEW TESTAMENT SAYS THAT IT IS!i mean if that isn't wrong than what the hell in our lives is wrong!?what our lives is all about is choosing between rite and wrong....all of us including the fanatic muslims.....we gotta open our eyez....we gotta know the purpose of our life!
