i think this is a song about him skipping out on his wedding and leaving his fiance "i'd toast to the future but that'd be a lie" |

The fact that you can be so close to someone that you can feel as though you've spent a lifetime with them after only 3 and half minutes - that's just awesome |

| The Rolling Stones – You Can't Always Get What You Want Lyrics

The Stones have said that they got the ideas for this song after playing at the Excelsior Fair grounds where they met Mr. Jimmy - a slightly deranged, cigar smoking man. Mr. Jimmy does not refer to Hendrix, that is merely a coincidence |

I actually have to agree with Katie on this one. Everytime I hear this song it just strikes me that way, possibly because that's what I'm going through right now, but it just makes sense to me. He's saying that he's thinking about trying to make a relationship more than it is and possibly giving up a great friendship and he just doesn't want to think about it anymore. But again, that's just my take on it. |

Hey, I'm 17 and love the crows - no idea how I got started listening to them, but I love 'em all the same. I saw them in concert when they opened for The Who, one other time, and then a live outdoor concert called the Basilica Block Party, it was awesome! |

Amen, uberchicken, amen - I got so many chick friends i can't count them all, but have I ever had a girlfriend, heck no. They all say "any girl would be lucky to date you," then they go out and date an asshole - what a world eh? |

Haha, so the high and mighty "stevethegreat" doesn't believe me? For shame! Trust me, the Stones played there before they made it big time. You can come and see for yourself if you'd like. Excelsior is about 45 minutes south-west of MSP airport, take highway 5 West the whole way. Of course, it might just be easier to believe me. You do make a valid point though - this song rules WOO! |

Instead of
"Kind of like the last time
With a bunch of really fast times"
It should be:
"Kind of like the last time
With a bunch of really fast rhymes" |

Just to let you all know: Mr. Jimmy is a man that lives in Excelsior, Minnesota. The Rolling Stones got some of the ideas for this song when they played at the Excelsior Fairgrounds in the early '60s. Jimmy is a mentally handicapped man who walks around town smoking a cigar and talking to random people, and is very much alive - I had a conversation with him just the other day. |

This is one of the funniest songs of all times. "watch them laugh, watch them drool, watch them fall into the pool - that's diving!" is the funniest part of the entire song. |

I don't really care what this song is about - I think it's just a really great Bush song - and could care less about what he is talking about. |

This song can be used to explain all sorts of situations. The violins are especially good when used in conjunction with the electric guitars and bass. What I really like about this song is the acoustic version - it takes a strong rock song it puts into almost an orchastra type setting with with a soft guitar and violins. Dougan is right - the song wouldn't seem the same without the sweet lull of the violins. |

This is one of Bush's best songs - but I don't think this is about them getting high - Gavin is making fun of David Bowie though - GREAT SONG. |

I consider this THE best Bush song - the way the words and music flow together... The music is the best part of this song - I could listen to it without the lyrics - but they are good too. |
