Many bizarre interpretations on this page. The actual meaning was posted by flockprintingstars when he quoted Antony: it's about those abusive relationships where the person being abused feels like it's out of love. "a ceiling full of stars" the person is childlike with a vivid imagination "a photograph of time" these relationships always start well and that is what the person being abused remembers and clings to; he or she lives in the past "I know that you can't tell me" rather than realizing the abuser has no love for him or her, they rationalize it by pretending there is some other reason this supposed love can't be expressed "the memories of your devotion" all the physical wounds are tolerated because the person being abused interprets them as being loved |

Though the song is extremely good, I'm not entirely sure of its meaning. I'd say it's about two people attracted to eachother but hesitant to make a move, they both want the other to "say it right" and sweep them off their feet. Meanwhile because of their fears they try to deny the attraction. I could be really wrong though, would love to hear more input |

| I think this song is about releasing your aggressions and complaints about a person (spending time working on a car, going out to drink with friends, not doing the dishes) but not at the person, in private. The person in the song somehow needs to do this to still be happy with the significant other. "Imagine what my body would sound like" would then mean, what if our relationship was over? It's a beautiful day. A woman and a man have a fight about her cheating on him. She denies that it happened, but the man is sure that she did. They fight on, and eventually he sends her away. She begs to him, and in the end claims even the orb (the sun) cannot melt the ice (his cool attitude). At least I was told that the song was about that. |

It's a cry to mankind, a complaint, and the dialogue (allegedly taken from actual words between students at the Columbine shooting) totally fits the song. The emotions in the singer's (Tarja Turunen) voice work really well with the heavy music.
