personally i dont think they would write an anti civil war song. not because of the slaves thing cause i think thats a bit of stretch. but the civil war was fought to keep this country as 1, not 2 halves. so it was kind of important, and to say all those men died in vain is a bit off. also, people dont typically do anti-anything unless they want some action done to prevent something. but not much can be done to stop the civil war, i guess just because its been over for 120 years. i could be wrong though, maybe it is anti civil war. |

juice... i very much respect your approach to adding your comment..... "I'm not saying that my opinion is the actually meaning of the song".... nice.. the opposite of what i expected from some of the other, uh, people on this site. ive said it like 20 times, and ill say it again. it is WORTHLESS to argue how your opinion is right. dispatch wrote the song with ONE meaning in mind. if you think its different, great. but you have no right to argue with other people about how theyre wrong in their thoughts. you also have no right to say how your view is right because it makes the most sense. so shut up. |

how bout everybody just shut the hell up and enjoy the damn song? its a great song, so those of you who dont like it shut up and keep your damn stupid opinions to yourself cause nobody wants to hear them. hell, it was voted greatest guitar song/solo ever, so obviously some people like it. mrclean you can just shut up. and like paulaban, although none of you should be arguing your stupid little points of what the song means, at least dont just come out and say how everybody else is wrong, thats pretty damn stubborn and stupid.
you guys need to just chill out and like the music. theres only 1 meaning to the song, and only 1. they knew it when they wrote it, and its useless to go about arguing what they could have meant. its the same as if i draw a picture and intend it to represent love, all you buttholes come in and talk about how youre right and everyone else is wrong because you see it as being 'cheese' or 'kittys'. jeez. chill out. |

whats so damn diffucult about this? listen to the words, the message is right there. how can you get jesus from that? do any of their other songs have anything to do with jesus? no, not that i can tell. are they openly a christian band? no. so why would they make one song about jesus? just to confuse their fans? im thinkin no. you people need to chill out and just enjoy the music for what it is, dont go off trying to look intelligent and making some wild inane connection. seriously. |
