| this was the first ever dashboard song and i absolutely loved it from like the first two seconds of the song. it totally related to me in any and every way. i know what its like to get the whole mixed signals and such, and it hurts almost more than falling in love, i dont have much for comparison on the whole love thing, but mixed signals do hurt. and it really reminded me of this guy i used to like, we could talk for hours and hours and whenever i talked about past stuff he would always roll his eyes at me, i never really knew what it meant, and thats also another thing that made me love this song. i wanna go see dashboard in concert so bad, i have been trying to for the past year, but i dont think it would be as fun to see him now cause people would be there that don't truly cherish his music and stuff like that. but i would still be there in a heartbeat. chris is a lyricall genius, and i am saddened cause his tour with weezer and sparta are not coming anywhere near me :(, poo poo. but . . . yeah, chris has been awesome ever since i started listening to him, which was like a year or so ago, and i don't like seeing him on MTV with all these people that think they know what he is about . . . i mean you can like him all you want, but i mean I HATE MTV, and thats about it, and i love chris, and love and hate don't mix, he was awesome on unplugged, i saw some kids in there that truly liked him tho and that was cool to watch the people, but everyone else pissed me off, anyways, i'll stop rambling now, and further seems forever is an awesome band, i just love chris's voice. | |

okay, my interpretation i think the first verse is about a young couple "freshmen" who get into a relationship that is very serious. I think that the girl wants to move too fast for the guy, she wants to get married . . . he breaks it off and blames her "she fell in love in the first place" he blames the whole thing on her and denies his guilt, meanwhile he is crying about it because he regrets leaving her. Second verse: a couple breaks up (the guys best friend in the first verse) and he leaves so that he can party and stuff to forget about her, and while he is gone she commits suicide. He knows that he caused her suicide but he blames her for loving him too much. Both friends have been through hell and cry about their lost loves a lot, but they are too scared to talk with each other about it i may be wrong but me and my friend sat for like an hour trying to interpret this song . . . i hope you like it :) |
