Well, that was the general purpose of: SongMeanings :-P People who don't like or listen to AFI anymore because Davey happens to be bi, Are so fucking retarded. Socitity is based of Superficiality, so everyone jumps on the: "I HATE PEOPLE WHO ARE NOT SO STRAIGHT!11!11! i r0x0r j00!" boat. I think everyone of them should be slain. As I read my previous Posts I know now that: Agnostic isn't spelt Aganostic. Heh. Also, lookin' at the lyrics again: "Steal away the darkened pages, hidden so shamefully. I'll still feel the violence of the lines" I decided to re-analyze that. I think it could be something about the "Chruch" (As it was pre 1400) and all of it's Tyranny and control over everything. It was corrupted "Steal away the pages" and covered up "Hidden so shamefully". And then, "Omnipotence Nuturing Malevolence" would make sense! Omnipotence = Godly or universal power. And, the CHURCH does "GOD'S" biddings. And, the CHURCH was CORRUPTED. (Malevolence: Ill will!) That's my current standing on this song. SexierThanSox; Just to make a note, I don't have a religion, and I'm not atheist. I believe what I believe freely and without restrictions. That's almost Aganostic, except with Slight belief in a higer power? (Of course Aganostic is: There could be an Exitence of God, but you don't particulairy believe in anyone of the organized cases, or in some cases care) As for this song? I've said it before, I guess only Davey knows the true 'meaning' of it, but of course, he'd never tell us! He want's to see us argue with each other untill one drop dead result is reached. All I know, is, I really like the lines; "My soul brings tears to Angelic eyes, And miles away my mother cries. Omnipotence, nurturing malevolence." Godly or Universal power, caring of/for, Ill Will. It's pretty deep. All in all, good. This song get's two thumbs up From me! :D |

I doubt it's about Jesus, but I don't know. The only way I doubt this is because of the song "The prayer Position" if he basically denounces religion, why would the next song be about Jesus Christ? It doesn't exactly make sense to me, but, I guess on Davey know what they're about. |
