i wish Howie had done a bit more "singing" of the lyrics in this song, as most of it seems like its spoken, but nonetheless, it's an amazing song. typical interpretation of "loved and lost". he's remembering the end of a relationship and how badly it's effecting him now. can't wait for the new CD. it's been forever in the making |

I replied to this song earlier in the posts and just wanted to re-touch on some things. My father died from cancer almost 3 years ago and I started listening to OLP about 6-8 months before that. I also went to see them in concert in Atlanta right around that time, and the last song of the encore was this song, the one that really touched me and made me start thinking about life, and my relationship with my dad, and how I hadn't really spent any time with him or appreciated the time I did have (he had been diagnosed w/cancer 8 months earlier). I listened to this song over and over so many times and eventually mad him a CD with burnee songs that made me think of our relationship. I left it on his desk with a note saying "#14 (4 a.m.) is my favorite. I don't know if he ever listened to it, he never mentioned anything, but I have a feeling he did because he started acting differently towards me, as if he understood what I was trying to say. OLP will always make me think of my dad, and that concert, that last song, the emotion I felt singing it in the crowd will be one I always remember. (thanks to my best friend cris for being there that night and helping me throught the hard months that were to come in the future. you've always been there, even when I felt alone. I love you, brother.) |

I saw Howie for the 3rd time a couple months ago when he came to the ATL too. Not the best show I've seen by him, but still pretty damn good. He mentioned before he performed this song that this is actually about a girl who has an abortion. I thought it was a little twisted, but the more I listened to it the more it made sense. Just goes to show you how crazy some of Howie's songs are. I mean, come on, I love him, but he's a little off the wall. Either way, thought fans might appreciate being able to understand another one of his amazing songs. |

It's my friends favorite HD song, and he kept making me listen to it over and over, and kept asking me why I didn't like it. | this is one of the first OLP songs i head, and i think that sickntwistd is right, about it being about someone going down the wrong path. it means alot to me, b/c at one point in my life i was going down the wrong path, and my friend got me into this band, and was there for me, and the more i listened to the music, the more personal it became to me, and i was able to relate to OLP's songs. i just needed a friend, just like in the song, and i found one, in my friend, and in OLP. | |

| I saw Howie in concert earlier tonight in Atlanta, and was dissapointed that he didn't play this song. It's my favcorite, and even though I screamed for him to play it, he didn't. I heard that this is going to be Howie's first single released from Australia. I't such a bad ass song, and I'm hoping he'll play it when I see him in Atlanta this Thursday. I'm thinking it's about a relationship that is over, and the memories of what was once haunt you now. "ask me should we try again i’m thinking no y’know, it’s not what i believe in it’s not what i believe in" that line just tells you that sometimes what you want is not what you really need, so you have to make the right decision.
