| Black Sabbath – Sweet Leaf Lyrics | 22 years ago |

Many of the verses are very obviously about marijuana, cigarettes just don't fit into the words. I'm certain the cigarette thing was to make it more politically correct, as someone already said. ALso, to whoever said songs in the 70's about pot would be unheard of.... uh... riiiight... |

| Black Sabbath – Snowblind Lyrics | 22 years ago |

System of A Down's cover to this song was horrible, no black sabbath song should ever have that kind of tempo, and the guitar work was not nearly as good... and the vocals... shudder. SOAD sucks in general, as does 99.9% of all music made in the last 10 years. Black Sabbath was a band that you could truly call Rock n' Roll in every sense of the word, I would like to see a new band emerge with the same claim to fame. |

| Ozzy Osbourne – Time After Time Lyrics | 22 years ago |
| It seems to me it's about someone breaking up with him, but him still loving them, "you broke mine" referring to his heart, and various other things that are obvious references to relationships and his longing. | |
| Ozzy Osbourne – Running Out Of Time Lyrics | 22 years ago |
| It's about a soldier living with his past experiences post-war. Struggling to stay sane even after all the things he saw that were so terrible he would never wish them upon anyone. He killed people, so he has no soul to sell. Just another lonely broken hero means that he's just one of many soldiers suffering through the same thing. Also, in the second verse, he makes mention of faith guiding him, but in the chorus he says he's running out of faith, because he starts to question if what he did was really right. | |
| Metallica – Sad But True Lyrics | 22 years ago |

It sounds to me like they're talking about getting pulled into a mafioso sort of arrangement. "you you, you're my mask, you're my cover my shelter" you're the fall guy "do, do, do my work, do my dirty work, scapegoat" you get to do the dirty work because you're expendable the parts about being "his life" mean that if he leaves he's screwed, because he's already in too deep. I think the first verse really gives it away: "Hey I'm your life I'm the one who takes you there hey I'm your life I'm the one who cares they they betray I'm your only true friend now they they'll betray I'm forever there " sounds very gang/mafioso related to me, saying everyone else is lying, and they're your only friends. |

| Metallica – King Nothing Lyrics | 22 years ago |
|
It's about political officers more specifically. "dig for gold, dig for fame, dig to make your name" they struggle to make themselves famous "just want one thing, just to play the king" this means they only want one thing, to become president(play the king, since the president isn't really a king, but holds power), and then the latter parts of the song are about their pasts catching up to them, causing a scandal, and causing their downfall, and all that's left of them is a name. |

| Metallica – Fuel Lyrics | 22 years ago |
| Fuel is just about people living their lives too fast, not about drugs, if you want a song about drugs, go listen to master of puppets. | |
| Cake – Sheep Go To Heaven Lyrics | 22 years ago |
|
It has nothing to do with religion at all. Sheep are conformists, you hear the term used for that a whole lot. Goats are stubborn, non-conformists. Society rewards those who conform, and punishes those who do not, thus sheep go to heaven, and goats go to hell. The lines about the people doing the jobs are about those people maintaining the status quo, and the lines about doing random things(playing pan-pipes, drinking wine, ect), and "as soon as you're born, you start dying, so you might as well have a good time" are expressions of non-conformist attitudes. Also, the part about not wanting to go to sunset strip, because of the stupid band names is a non-conformist way of thinking, he's rejecting pop-culture. |
