I didn't get the drug reference either.. what a fucking great song. I think the last line "What do you say, your coffin or mine" describes the song pretty well.. i think this line sums up the album pretty well... heck, I think this line sums up MATT SKIBA pretty well :) If you're coming up with a song like this, and with these last few lines you can consider yourself a pretty good lyricist... damn! |

hmm okay... To me it always seemed like some ended relationship song. How it hurt and all the pain, and about staying friends...
"don't forget to forget you forgot me"; she "forgot" him, when she left him... but when he says he'll remember that she's his friend and he'll fall asleep on her floor (sign of trust), he signalizes that he has forgiven her for all the suffering she caused to him...

I love this song. It has about the best beginning ever, I still get goose bumps when I hear it...

I agree, the song's about a friend who died from a heroine O.D.
Just something to the first line. "I got a dying urge to feel the way you do". What does his dead friend feel? Nothing, that's right, i think matt wishes to get away from the pain by feeling nothing... or being dead. I think the "dying" in the line makes it even clearer.. |
