| Harvey Danger – Little Round Mirrors Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| i think it's not all quite as down as all that. you kids are super right that the "little round mirrors" are cds, but think about what sean says about the bands, and by extension, Harvey Danger: "when they dream they all dream of somebody like you/somebody who takes what they make twice as seriously as they could ever hope to do." but it's also cautionary in the ways you were saying, that letting any one thing take over your life is always detrimental to the rest, and exclusive focus on rare music tends to stunt your social growth. | |
| Last Perfect Thing – Tear Drops And Tennis Shoes Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| also these lyrics are wrong. it's "Sunday give me strength/the birds in my hand fly away" not "someday you'll explain/the burns in my hand light away" | |

| Glassjaw – Lovebites And Razorlines Lyrics | 22 years ago |
| this is the perfect fuck-off song when you've just been totally screwed over by a girl and you can't even express how angry you are. happened to me about a month ago, and when i put up this song in my profile it actually scared a friend of mine. anyone know how many times daryl yells "you fucking whore!"? it's gotta be up there. and yes, "suck on the end" is so awful that it's amazing. | |
| Glassjaw – Hidden Poem Lyrics | 22 years ago |
| oh, i've heard this referred to as "chapter seven test", does anyone know what the official title is? | |
| Glassjaw – Hidden Poem Lyrics | 22 years ago |
| this is one of the most beautiful poems i have ver read, and daryl's reading of it is almost haunting. great shit, and a great band that knows how to perfectly balance fragile beauty and violence. | |
| Plain White T's – Fireworks Lyrics | 22 years ago |
|
#1 this song is what made me fall in love with this band. i caught their set at the skate and surf this year, and it was excellent, hung out with tom afterwards and bought the album, which i thoroughly enjoy. #2 i agree that it's better to just let music be music, rather than peg a band into a genre, it inevitably comes up. how else do you describe a band to people besides "well, they're a punk band with kind of a metal influence" or "they sound like refused" or something like that? so classification is good when used as a descriptor, but not as a stylistic limitation on the artist. #3 the plain white t's are a pop band. they play pop music. it's pretty obviously some very high-quality pop music. they make me think of a more straightforward jimmy eat world, and jew are one of the best pop bands around. peace, ninja. |
