Nuh uh!! Buffy doesn't suck, it just does in your humble opinion.... I've heard the Manson version but I don't like it as much as the original. It's a beautiful song, excellent lyrics (pointing to the vampire side of the scale I must reiterate) but there are also the meanings as previously stated. Personally, it makes me think of a big party with all these elegant vamps floating about drinking blood from chamagne flutes and the like. Hehe... |

Thimble island is an actual place off the coast of Connecticut (or somewhere in that region, at least) and tourists sail around it. This song is about a girl who's going on a cruise there and hoping to find love. It's cool- I like the verse that goes "I've not heard of girls returning" etc but I don't quite know how that realtes to the rest of the song- still, exquisite lyrics as always from Rasputina! |

Wow. I never knew that was what it was about. I thought it was about an arsonist who was so dissatisfied as to destroy everything because of, "Girls work hard for small rewards" etc, I thought that she was describing things that have been taken away from her so she burns down some place, especially because it says "MY little shirtwaiste fire..." I think this is beautiful and I love the part where she says, "Such a sweet face trapped in the staircase by the smell of her own burning hair." |

At the beginning shes says, "Here's the sad sto-o-ry about a deer, and a ma-an." Then it goes into, "A romantic scene..." Because this song is about a deer that gets killed by a hunter, but thinks that the feeling of death is love. She confuses the arrow with a kiss. I think that's beautiful and this song is just so relevant. I love it. |

Yes it's the one that goes "Oh we are as one with the acorn, my son..." etc. It's about a mother who doesn't want her child to lose its inocence; "I see the devil in your eyes... look at no one but me..." etc
"A quitter" is about suicide, yes. And it's my favourite on "Cabin Fever." I agree with Atalaya it's not so harsh, the music reflects that. She is indeed as WastedYouth describes but on the other hand I believe she's mocking everyone around her, proven particularly when she says, "I'll be glad to go, you see!" I think this because I feel like her. Like everyone else is so stupid that there's no point in trying to join them, but leave them... I haven't got round to the leaving part... yet... :D |

I dunno if this has been said before because I couldn't be bothered to read the other responses.... but I think that this song is about one of two things: an adverse mentality that has infected someone ("the angel") but been gotten rid of with drugs so it resigned to withering away OR a person with a mental condition who has lost someone close to them ("the angel") and kills him/herself as a result. |
