Nope, never heard of Operation Ivy which means.... I don't know their story. op ivy was a band that broke themselves up because they were getting "too popular". i thought you might like them for some reason. Well....actually, Nsync etc arn't all that different to LP as they both sound similar, just LP use guitars, but....they both have dj's, both wear trendy ass clothes and both suck ;) they sound similar? since when? show me a song where they sound remotly similar. o.0 Yeah, I'd say if you don't know the history of the music genre you're pretty much a trendy. It's like they hear one band off that genre and think that its the best in the world, when I can think of 200 bands off the top of my head who are much better talented, have better lyrics and are more original than this corporate crap that Linkin Park put out. You put LP in a group of 100 other Nu metal bands, would you be able to tell who Linkin Park were? I think not. trendy? i can live with that. i personally think that if you like a band, you like them. no matter what sound they are, no matter what genre, if you like em you like em. i bet there are bands out there that are better than linkin park. in fact, i know there are. but that doesnt change the fact that people like linkin park. And wait...you like the rap in LP, so...if Emimem was to guest star in one of LP's songs you would like it? argh! evanescence IS NOT a christian band!!! this song was originally done by soul embraced, as said before... you guys will probably not like that version, it is MUCH different. i think this song is about someone who began to cut when their life just got too hard. she felt the cutting would help stop her pain, but made her feel worse. she then begins to feel suicidal, but god is her tourniquet, and she refrains from doing so. because of all this, s/he withheld him/herself from everyone, and they all drifted away. she wished to return to her friends, but they would not take her back, which made her feelings return. again, god is her tourniquet, and she does not do it. the very end, i think, is where she actually commits or attempts suicide. she is worried that she will go to hell for her sin, and she wants to be salvaged. thats just my two cents |
