| To each his own icemetalpunk, but I think your take needs to be examined a little bit more. Your idea that this is about a father/son punching match is too literal and 'inside the box'. "Take the fight from the kid" doesn't literally translate into "beat up your kid until he can't fight you anymore"...think about it. Also, your explanation really falls apart when you put it all together. First, why is a father who continuosly beats the shit out of his children in the ICU and not locked up in prison? Second, why is the kid's father the one passed out in the ICU if he's been beating the shit out of his kids, and more importantly, why are they in the "quarantine wing" if it's the abusive father is the one checked into the hospital? if you could intelligently explain or correlate any of these points I would be impressed, but your "analysis" is completely wrong from beginning to end, in my opinion. There are a lot of good posts on this song on the 2nd and 3rd pages that discuss drug use, overdosing, and constant trips to the ICU which explain most of the lyrics poignantly. Read them, you'll feel better. | |
