| P.O.D. – Abortion Is Murder Lyrics | 21 years ago |
Okay, Pigbenis..... I said I was not an atheist but not a religion. Afterwards I said that I believe in a God.... which means that I'm not an atheist..... however I refuse to believe that any of the modern religions have the existence of God quite right. Might want to try reading responses before running your mouth. |

| Elliott Smith – Everything Reminds Me of Her Lyrics | 21 years ago |
As much as it is easy to turn an Elliott Smith song into a song about drug addiction, I genuinely believe it's about a girl. I know the feeling where everything reminds you of her and you just can't get her out of your head. Everybody gives me the same damn sermon, but you know, I still go for it. I came across it and I lost my course to getting it, so I kind of do sit and stare into outer space crying. But you know what, everything reminds me of her. |

| Saves the Day – An Afternoon Laughing Lyrics | 21 years ago |
Wow, what can I say about this song? I can say that as of yet, I have never found another song that describes my feelings for this girl I've liked since, to tell the truth, this is just what I'd say to her. It's just what I think about. It's like the national anthem of the country of love I've created. But alas, she doesn't want me. I'd like to hang out with her one day and spend an afternoon laughing and then in twelve years, we'd have a place and a daughter. It's all there really. It's amazing that I have finally found a song which sounds like it came out of my heart completely. It's just.... wow.... |

| P.O.D. – Abortion Is Murder Lyrics | 21 years ago |
Okay, P.O.D. actually didn't suck completely. Then I heard this song. I'm sorry, but "Alive" didn't bother me. Neither did "Youth of the Nation". It's overly religious bull like this song that ruined a tolerable band. I'm not here to quabble over beliefs, but let's just put it in the terms that it is not an artists job to pimp values. It is the artist's job to entertain and possibly connect with people. I know people who have had abortions, and you know what, I don't consider it murder in their circumstances. What about girls who have been raped or molested? Why should they have to keep that reminder of the wrong? I think Christian fundamentalism is off the mark. I'm not an Atheist, but I am not any religion. I believe in a God but not in one religion. There's too much mud slinging involved in religion. |

| A – I Love Lake Tahoe Lyrics | 21 years ago |
I've never heard the actual song, but you know what, I have to chime in on what it's meaning is. It's about Lake Tahoe. If you've ever been to Lake Tahoe, you understand that it is a REALLY beautiful place and it just has a lot of natural allure and a very laid-back atmosphere. I would live there if I could; it's just that good. Heavenly is the main ski resort up there (also known as the place Sonny Bono died). Squaw Valley is also there (actually it's on the opposite side of the lake from Heavenly). I definitely know that I can honestly agree with A on this... Tahoe is an awesome place. My main beef is that the structure of the lyrics seems more than a little contrived and that it just all seems too black and white for my tastes. |

| Garth Brooks – Make You Feel My Love Lyrics | 21 years ago |
I'm going to go amazingly cliche here and say that it's about some guy confessing his love for a girl. All the signs are there: the confession and then the situation play and then what they'd do for her. Good song, not much I can think of to say. |

| Mr. Big – To Be With You Lyrics | 21 years ago |
I think that waiting in a line of greens and blues means holding out through incredible jealousy and sadness and still following the same thing you've always been following. This song is softer rock than I normally listen to. Regardless, it is a really good song and while the lyrics aren't complicated, gets it's point across. |

| Dashboard Confessional – This Ruined Puzzle Lyrics | 21 years ago |
"Does he ever get the girl?" It's amazing how much Chris' words really apply to my situation. I'm in love with a girl who just doesn't seem to feel the same, yet I still care about her and want to make her happy. So, now, I've written a note that tells her how much I care and if she should ever want to give me a chance, I will be here. You know, it is pretty funny. I got more happiness through being a stupid sixteen year-old kid than I'm getting as a completely sensitive nineteen year-old. Once I met her, she was like the turntable that changed what I once was. I grew up and began thinking of everything in a new way, a fresh way; I began to look at everything the RIGHT way. I met her; the only girl that I believe I've ever liked for anything more than sexual attraction. She has this brilliant personality that just lights up everything around her. I can't help but feel my stomach float when I'm around her. It's like being on the first drop of the rollercoaster; it's scary, it's thrilling, and I'm floating out of my seat. To think I've spent the past three years in love with her is amazing, since no feeling has ever lasted this long. No feeling has ever broken my heart this much. No feeling has been this clear. My life is one huge jigsaw puzzle and she's the only piece that is turned up missing. She fits perfectly into the life that I lead but she keeps evading it and so this hole in my life stays and festers. And that, my friends, is what this song means to me. |

| Coldplay – Shiver Lyrics | 21 years ago |
Quite frankly, if I could make a soundtrack of my unrequited love, this would be on top of the list. It's amazing how Chris Martin made a situation that feels like hell sound so beautiful in the same vein, since even though unrequited love is hell, it's still beautiful because (for me at least) it changed my whole way of thinking. It made me completely new and restored hope within me, which I guess is a good thing. It's like Chris is saying, "You keep on with what you're doing. Just know that I shall always love you and that the feeling will never change." to this girl. He gives his attention and spends time on her and gets nothing in return. Amazingly, however, he doesn't seem fazed by it. He just keeps on giving the attention and spending time. For me, the lines, "Did you want me to change? Well, I changed for good." really resonate because I did change as a result of falling for this girl. In fact, I think that Chris Martin successfully encapsuled my feelings in this song. Chris Martin is such an amazing songwriter. And I'm just too fucking emo. |

| The Used – Blue And Yellow Lyrics | 21 years ago |
Bert is right. It does feel amazing to live again. Other than that, I think the meaning is that, after a period of unhappiness, something can come along and brighten the world again. In darkness, there is always the capability to have it all stop and for the lights to come on. Living again is also a metaphor for love, in my opinion. You can be near dead from loneliness and love can save you and resuscitate you. You can become happy again, and that means new life breathed into your lungs. Amazing lyrics. Amazing sound. This song is truly beautifully composed. |

| Phantom Planet – The Galleria Lyrics | 21 years ago |
In the San Fernando Valley, just outside of Los Angeles, there was once a mall named the Sherman Oaks Galleria. It was the catalyst for 80's culture as well as the filming location of such acclaimed 80's hits as "Valley Girl" and "Fast Times at Ridgemont High". I remember it well, actually. It had a very generic mall feeling to it, but yet, it had a character. Everyone seemed to rally around it as being the main representation of the 80's and teen culture. In fact, many of the teenagers living in the western San Fernando valley hung out there, but a lot of the time, they didn't shop there. In the 90's, the mall continued it's existence until 1994, when the devastating Northridge Earthquake occurred. The mall sustained damage and as a result, didn't do the same business it did before the quake. Finally, in the late 90's, it was decided to close down the mall and build an outdoor shopping promenade. It was lights out for the Sherman Oaks Galleria and the end of an era for the children of the 80's. It's a simple song, but at it's heart, it could happen to our malls that we hang out around. I am a mallrat at heart and I know that any day, my mall could suffer the same fate as the Galleria. It may sound quite stupid at first, but if the mall were to close it's doors, it'd be the end of an era for me and my friends. We laughed, we cried, we ruled the mall. And if it were to close down, that's when our era would end. Great song by a great band. |

| Weezer – The Christmas Song Lyrics | 21 years ago |
No, sir, this is not a happy Christmas song like most seem to be. 'Tis the season to be jolly. To be merry. To be alone. To cry. Some of us find people to be with on Christmas. Some of us open up our presents and find nothing but a broken heart and another day without love. That is what the song is about. Being alone and wanting nothing more than a love to keep you company on the holiday. And then, you get nothing more than yourself. Truly heartbreaking. |

| Sunny Day Real Estate – Song About An Angel Lyrics | 21 years ago |
This song, to put it bluntly, is a masterpiece. So beautifully written, so much emotion in it; she is his angel and yet she will not endow him with her attention. Instead, he marries himself to his pain and is forced to live a life which is, quite frankly, dismal and depressing. I hate to say it, but as much as I theorize it could be about Jeremy's struggle with God, I see the angel as being a girl. The man in the song is madly in love with her, but she will not give him the time of day. But, instead of being smart and getting over her, he falls deeper, devoting all of himself to her. She is like an angel; a thing that he cherishes. He screams in desperation for her to just let him feel one moment of happiness. But, in the end, discomfort comes clearly. |

| Weezer – Wanda, You're My Only Love Lyrics | 21 years ago |
Why is there no comments on this song? As short and simple as the lyrics are, I really have a liking for this song. It's got a slow feeling and overall, it's just an amazingly good song about how he pushed away a girl and now realizes that she was all he needed all the time. Good song. |
| Weezer – Velouria (Pixies cover) Lyrics | 21 years ago |
To tell the truth, I like this version a little better than the Pixies version. The Weezer version is tuned a half-step down, making the notes sound much more deep and grungy. I also like the way that Rivers sings it as opposed to Black Francis' more direct delivery. Good song, good cover. |

| Weezer – Smile Lyrics | 21 years ago |
I think GuitarBoy definitely got the meaning. It reminds me of the girl that I am in love with. She has the most beautiful smile and in dreams, I am wrapped up in it. In reality, however, she doesn't really care about me the same way and refuses to give me a chance to go out with her. If she wanted some love, I would make it happen. I will wait for her as long as it takes. See, it is possible for Green Album-era songs to contain meaning. |

| Weezer – Butterfly Lyrics | 21 years ago |
To date, this, along with Across the Sea and Only In Dreams, is one of the only songs by Weezer that can make me cry uncontrollably. It is, at the simplest, a song about love lost. We've all seen it; one person loves the other way too much and it causes the other to run away, leaving the lover alone, and with nothing to cling to. I have experienced it; it is the most crippling feeling that I have ever felt and that most people will ever feel. That is life for the rejected; often, they feel that they would be better of chasing butterflies (beautiful girls). And in the end, it seems like the narrator has decided to end his quest and give up, meaning death or otherwise. Beautifully poignant and heartbreaking. Any way that you put it, it's an amazing piece of work by a superb songwriter. Let us hope that Rivers can go back to this quality of writing. |

| Radiohead – No Surprises Lyrics | 22 years ago |
I compare the feeling in this song to that of a person right before they die in a car accident, although, I suppose it could be anything that kills. Seriously, I also see a suicide connection. When I hear this song, I somehow feel like doing it, and I can't explain why. It just makes me feel suicidal for some odd reason that really, really perplexes me. Think about it. The beginning is the reason. The middle is the action. The end is death. The song, when it slows down in the end, is like emotional death. God, I'm pitiful. |

| Something Corporate – If You C Jordan Lyrics | 22 years ago |

Okay, let me just say, I apply this to all of my so-called friends. They may not be red-headed, one of them is a girl, but there's no FUCKING way I'll let "friends" betray me. |
| Weezer – Only in Dreams Lyrics | 22 years ago |
This is probably going to mean a lot more to me after this Saturday, as that's Prom night for me, and I'm going with the girl that I really, really like. Great song, and I've already decided that when I get married, this song will be played at the wedding... it's just too amazing of a song to leave out. |
| Weezer – Longtime Sunshine Lyrics | 22 years ago |
It's literally impossible not to get and understand this song (for me at least.) It's pretty much just a song about what he wants and what he needs. I can relate, that's for sure. I mean, I'd kill to settle down with a good woman and move to somewhere greener, somewhere less populated than Los Angeles. Good song, good band, and good meaning. |

| Weezer – Living Without You Lyrics | 22 years ago |

Okay, this song has very simple lyrics, but yet it sends chills down my spine whenever it comes on my WinAmp. Awesome song by an awesome band. Rivers really IS the master of hopeless love songs. |
| Braid – Eulalia, Eulalia Lyrics | 22 years ago |
Okay, this song is an awesome song. To me, it's about young love, and then later on being lonely and longing to be back in that young love because it was so happy and everything was so bright. If I had the choice I'd go back to third grade and be innocently in love again, as things just aren't working in the here and now. |

| Taking Back Sunday – Cute Without The 'E' (Cut From The Team) Lyrics | 23 years ago |
Well, I mean, they're emo, but they're what I consider to be "real emo", which means that it expresses emotion without inhibition, unlike Dashboard Confessional, which has emotion, but it's not as expressed as in Taking Back Sunday. This song, in my opinion, is about having a chance with a girl, getting drawn in by her, and then having her totally stab you in the back. I relate because I'm pretty much going through the same thing, I'm watching her fall in love with another guy, and what's worse is that she does this all in front of my eyes. I guess the most meaningful line in this song would probably be "So will you tell all your friends/You've got your gun to my head". Coming from the situation in the song, it really is like you have a gun to your head, and you really just get frustrated and angry with it. Great band, great song, and great lyrics. |
