I don't know how the hell Birdman kicked Wesley Willis' ass. I mean, the guy whupped the ass of Batman AND Superman. And then some BIRDMAN kicks his ass? I think Wesley was just being nice. One of his better songs, too. The phrase "rookie road" is enigmatic. |

| Wesley obviously has conflicted feelings about Mr. Schwarzenegger. He refers to him both as a "low-down, rotten man" and "the greatest man I ever liked" - crushing condemnation and high praise respectively. I believe this tune was Wesley trying to sort out his feelings about Arnold in song. | |

i have loved this song for two years. actually, it was about this time of year that my friend first told me to listen to it... i had never heard of something corporate, but after i heard konstantine i became a fan. i think i owe my friend andrew a debt for that. i saw soco and yellowcard on may 1st in philly, and i went in not expecting them to play this song. i'd heard it's rare for them to do so. i mean, it would have been a blast without it, andrew had so much energy, clutch was wearing a pirate outfit, for god's sake, and the rest of the band was in top form. but when the lights dimmed and the rest of the band left the stage and andrew sat down at the piano i knew what was coming. it was fucking incredible. i don't think i really need to say anything else. but of course i will. i just stood there entranced, holding on to my girlfriend and singing along softly and crying a little. the rest of the band came back out, and the song rose and fell and then ended, and it was just breathtaking. it really amazes me how much of an impact music can have on a person. it amazed me when i heard the song and it amazed me even more when i heard it at the electric factory last saturday. the sheer number of comments on this song is a testament to how powerful it is. |
