This song is ALMOST an absolute masterpiece. It is a masterpiece. BUT What would make it an absolute masterpiece is if he put different words to the first two choruses ("She spreads/her love/and burns me up.") then at the very end, after "And as we speak/I'm going down" he should have added the original words to the LAST chorus, "'Cause she spread/her love/and burned me up." That way the listener would be wondering what happened the whole song, then at the very end, they'd go "ohhhh." That's actually what happened to me. I never listened close enough to that chorus til one time when I payed attention at the end, and it had that effect on me. Wonderful song nonetheless. |
