this is an amazing song. it pertains to so much in a few lines and it is, in agreeance, utter brilliance. I enjoy most of all penfolds work but this song sticks out in my mind. I couldn't hear everything being sad when listening to the song the first time but even then, i knew the power behind it. Its one of those songs that you just listen to and understand it, in your own way. No need for words- but it was a fortunate addition. cheers to penfold |

i dont think it has to do with other people. I think its all about someone lost within themself. and how they are nothing to themselves, not necessarily the world. Through the song how he whispers some of the lyrics... its like hes fading out in his own words, and that makes him lonley. To know that his own words can not be heard my himself therefore no one else can hear them. On the outside he puts up a front and hes 'clothed' to prevent people from seeing the real him. and when hes naked inside of himself he can see through everything and see the bare and true him. and that is scarey. It seems as though toward the end of the song hes giving up. whether or not its on himself or on listening to what others say i cant tell. but either way- excellent song. i love it. |

this is most certainly my favorite song by a perfect circle. To me i feel as though he gave himself to someone that just ran with it... and put him amoungst all of the others... who are all the same. And that hes hurt, and cant help it, but he feels he should have realized to not give his heart to someone that doesnt see HIM and who he is. And shes just an angel in disguise, and has caused him a tragedy.
