This song is actually pretty important to me, because the whole song describes my feelings for a girl I know. We connected almost instantly with one another, but I always feel like if we could have had a relationship, we really could have even better times. But now that we're getting older, I'm worried that we may not ever have that chance. "It's in the way that she poses It's in the things that she puts in my hair Her stories are boring and stuff She's always calling my bluff She puts the, she puts the weights in to my little heart and she gets in my room and she takes it apart She puts the weights into my little heart I said she puts the weights into my little heart" This part really cinches it for me. Sometimes her stories really do bore me, and she does call my bluff when I act like something I'm not. It's hard to describe why I like her, but I do, and because of it, I feel the weight in my heart. |

The straight edge line is easy enough to figure out. Ever hear about how as soon as the sXe kids get their tattoos to show how fucking edge they are end up turning 21 and getting incredibly more fucked up than those of us who don't preach some puritanical bullshit? Straight edge kids want to feel morally superior, like most believers, and don't even end up practicing what they preach. Seriously. And stop worrying about whether or not there is a god or not, who gives a shit? |

| Fear Before – A Gift For Fiction Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| We should admit we were wrong, we're all living life in a way that we're going to kill ourselves in the end. We should kick our habit of relying on saviors and promises of a heaven after this life. We need to save ourselves by making this place better, because after all, we should all be afraid to die. | |
| Fear Before – My (Fucking) Deer Hunter Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| It's about evolution, becoming man, and then man subjugating his fellow man for the diety of his choice, be it God, other man, or money. | |
| Fear Before – The Waiting Makes Me Curious Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| This song is about a person who sees no place for himself in the world. He wants somewhere to belong, but where does he belong? | |
| Fear Before – Ten Seconds In Los Angeles Lyrics | 19 years ago |

This song is about life in any large city, especially Los Angeles. Most of the people are scraping by, led on by the deceivers who continue to use them. He uses the image of the city as some sort of omnipotent entity who watches the masses. It knows about all the sins of the people, who all simply regard the spectacle of this life like a coliseum, watching in wonder at the "modern horror." And as the masses simply die off, they are not "crystal believers," so they don't see it as the fate of the masses, just how life is. |

I think that this song is about the degridation of culture. People talk all the time, but are they really saying anything worth listening to? So while people keep droning on about nonsense, the singer is trying to get his message across, but they get drown out by the "over excessive braying and the always open mouth." I get the sense listening to this album that this is the most socially conscious album by Fear Before, and I love it. |

| I think this song is absolutely amazing. It's upbeat, uplifting, and inspiring. You hear him sing and you just... feel alive. His songs about his faith and his identity really touch all types of people, of all faiths and backgrounds. He's passionate and talented... man, I hope that I can see him in concert one day. | |
