Ten Seconds In Los Angeles Lyrics

How he knows every wretch's death
none of them are crystal believers
They all shiver under fate's icy breath
but turn their face to the seeming deceiver

ALARM to all the foul aberrations
who feed off the disgust of the masses

All joined together
to make a scrap of a living
the eye sees all, the eye says so
off the foul gasping breath of those who are paying
He says all and he says so...

BEHOLD!!
Their defective bodies in wonder
THE CREEPS AND WHORES, THE WICKER AND DEFORMED
Amazement paints the faces in the rickety bleachers
They scream for more of the modern horror:

Such much as still the eyes of the happy
And burn us all away in the light life
Only the one knows the awful end
A JUSTIFIED TORTUROUS COMPLETION

Of all their wrong doings and BLACK SINS
forcasted in crystal visions
Slouched over the clear seeing eye
He marks down each death and he quivers...
How he knows every wretch's death
and none of them are crystal believers

Slouched over the clear seeing eye
He marks down each death and he quivers...
How he knows every wretch's death
and none of them are crystal believers

Can't believe nobody has commented this song. It's one of my favs of the new album.

This song is about life in any large city, especially Los Angeles. Most of the people are scraping by, led on by the deceivers who continue to use them. He uses the image of the city as some sort of omnipotent entity who watches the masses. It knows about all the sins of the people, who all simply regard the spectacle of this life like a coliseum, watching in wonder at the "modern horror." And as the masses simply die off, they are not "crystal believers," so they don't see it as the fate of the masses, just how life is.

To me, this song is about how if you don't fit the mold that you should fit in, you're going to be chewed up and spit about.

Los Angeles seems to be an all seeing being, who watches all the individuals, and unperfected people be thrown to the side for being different.

The moral of the song- You can't be an individual if you want to survive in this world.

anyone ever seen "the dark crystal"?

the nasty(foul aberrations) creatures worship and follow what is seen in the crystal. they see the possible end of them (fates icy breath).

idk just seems like a possibility. maybe that and a metaphor for city life
