Cold Chisel – Cheap Wine Lyrics 7 months ago
Reflective thoughts of someone who has lived wild and hedonist younger years, lost people and now not requiring charity or pity to now live in the here and now. My anthem for now having hit my 60's

Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young – Southern Cross Lyrics 8 months ago
I have crewed on rich dudes blue water vessels and one of the perks for these rich guys with big money is they are yacht girl magnets. There are 2 types of girls, they are young and most are looking for mr-rich-right-to-snag in a relationship They are eye-candy for below decks duties or sun bathe topless as they have no sailing skills. Crewing on a sailing with them can be like the love boat.

The others are very adventurist free spirits. Their crewing is a way for them to see the world and sail. They are very special, have sailing skills and to them the voyage is of more importance than the destination or finding and anchoring to a single guy or vessel .

This is the song of the yacht owner having fallen for a free spirited girl, and she has not fallen for him. He is so totally besotted with her. She 'jumped ship' either because of his neediness or to another yacht headed for some other port not on his voyage.

Those at-one with nature and the night sky will at any chance look skyward for the North star or in the setting where he is, the Southern Cross stars, and every time he see's the Southern Cross, it reminds him of her and her moving on and being unobtainable. My guess its lyrics by David Crosby either for something he witnessed or related to himself ?

The meaning for me ... a song I wish I had written or been able to articulate, the morning after a night with Lorraine, and in the morning I called her Margaret. Really loved Lorraine, but it was over
