| Tiamat – The Pentagram Lyrics

This is not an Edlund text, it is a poem by Aleister Crowley. This text was probably part of Crowley's occult rituals, its content explains the magical meaning of the pentagram - a man mastering the 4 elements: fire, water, air, earth and then mastering the spirit. |

| Tiamat – Carry Your Cross and I'll Carry Mine Lyrics

This is the album most imbued with Thelema/Crowley ideas. Carry your cross and I'll carry mine means that everyone has his own individual way to God. The face of evil is the face of God because every face is the face of God. God contains everything and therefore he also contains evil. |

| Tiamat – Gaia Lyrics

I don't think this song has anything to do with environmentalism or environmental protection. Edlund's philosophy is completely different, it's more contemplative. And it's clearly shown here. Nature takes care of itself. It has its own cycles, like the water cycle, and it is nature, the planet (Gaia) that decides when we live and when we die. According to its laws, the aeons change, according to its laws there are ‘new serum’ to ‘eradicate the illness’, according to its laws after drought comes rain. The role of man in this Edlund's worldview is very small, and man himself is insignificant before the greatness of the universe, and so spiders, snakes and the little mice are obviously about us too, man is implied somewhere along this line. |
