I’ve always interpreted this song being about a sugar baby that lives in Hollywood. The narrator is an old boyfriend from back home and he’s come to profess his love for her but he knows that she will stay in her cycle of finding rich boyfriends that take care of her. Each time a relationship ends, she reinvents herself just like the actresses in Hollywood do and starts again.
